Description
Alto TS18S 18-Inch Powered Subwoofer
Alto TS18S is a powered 18-inch subwoofer for adding dedicated low-frequency reproduction to a PA system. A built-in amplifier rated at 2500 watts peak, selectable EQ and phase-alignment controls help it work with suitable full-range loudspeakers.
Why Choose Alto TS18S?
The 18-inch driver makes this the larger-format option in the TS subwoofer family. It is worth considering for DJ material and live programmes with substantial low-frequency content. Plan the physical placement, crossover and handling requirements before selecting the cabinet.
Key Features
- 18-inch low-frequency driver: takes the dedicated bass role.
- Built-in amplification: avoids a separate external subwoofer amplifier.
- EQ and alignment controls: help integrate the cabinet with the rest of the PA.
- Balanced connections: support signal routing from suitable mixers and processors.
Best Suited For
PA and DJ systems that need a dedicated bass section alongside suitable full-range loudspeakers.
Setup and Connection Guide
Feed the subwoofer with an appropriate line-level signal and connect the rest of the system according to the intended routing. Adjust crossover, EQ and phase alignment by listening to the combined system. Keep low-frequency boosts moderate and leave headroom at the mixer. Cabinet placement and the room strongly affect bass distribution across the audience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it replace a full-range PA speaker?
No. A subwoofer handles low frequencies and needs suitable full-range speakers for vocals and upper-frequency detail. Choose crossover and level settings so the cabinets work together rather than compete.
Does 2500 watts describe continuous output?
The figure used here is the manufacturer’s peak amplifier rating. It should not be read as a continuous rating or added across cabinets to predict acoustic loudness.
Will any full-range speaker work perfectly with it?
Integration depends on compatible signal connections, level, crossover and placement. Use the available controls and test the system together rather than assuming a brand match alone guarantees the result.
