What is Tab Tension Technology?
Tab tensioning is the gold standard in projection screen technology. Unlike standard motorised screens where the screen material simply rolls down under gravity, a tab-tensioned screen features a series of precisely tensioned tabs along both side edges that attach to guide rails. These tabs keep the screen material under uniform tension from edge to edge, ensuring the surface remains mathematically flat regardless of ambient humidity, temperature changes, or the screen’s position during deployment.
The result is a perfectly flat reflective surface that eliminates optical distortions caused by screen curvature. When you project onto a flat screen, the image maintains perfect geometric accuracy – straight lines stay straight, circles stay circular, and the image looks exactly as the director or content creator intended.
