Edifier T5 Powered Subwoofer (8-inch)

The Edifier T5 is an 8-inch powered subwoofer for adding real low-end to a bookshelf or desktop system. Small speakers are honest about their limits — they cannot move enough air for deep bass — and the T5 exists to fill exactly that gap.

Because it is powered, it drops into an existing setup without demanding a new amplifier: connect it to your speakers’ sub output and dial the crossover and level to taste. The 8-inch driver keeps the cabinet compact enough for a bedroom or study while reaching noticeably deeper than any bookshelf pair alone.

Well judged for movie nights and bass-heavy music alike, the T5 turns a good two-speaker system into a full-range one.

Start with the subwoofer level low and raise it until bass feels like part of the music rather than an addition — that is the correct setting. The T5’s compact cabinet tucks beside a desk or TV unit without dominating the room.
