Fog Machines & Fluid

Fog machines add atmosphere to stages, DJ booths, concerts, weddings, clubs, theatre productions and parties. Fog also makes lighting beams and lasers visible, turning a simple light show into a dramatic visual effect. We stock fog machines, haze machines and fog fluid for events, venues, DJs and production companies, from about ₹4,000.

Types of fog and haze machines

• Fog machines: produce thick clouds of fog in bursts. Great for dramatic effects and parties.
• Haze machines: create a fine, even haze that makes light beams visible without obscuring the stage. Preferred for concerts, theatre and broadcast.
• Low-lying fog machines: create ground-hugging fog for first dances, entrances and stage effects.
• Fazers: combine fog and haze characteristics.

Features to compare

• Heater power (watts): higher wattage produces more output and shorter warm-up times.
• Output volume: measured in cubic feet per minute.
• Control options: wired remote, wireless remote, timer and DMX for lighting desk control.
• Tank capacity: larger tanks run longer between refills.
• Warm-up time: important for live events.

Choosing the right fluid

Use the fluid recommended by the machine's manufacturer. Water-based fog fluid is standard. Different fluids produce different density and hang time: quick-dissipating fluid for short bursts, long-lasting fluid for sustained effects. Never use oil-based or unknown fluids, which can damage the machine and be unsafe.

Safety and venue considerations

• Check that the venue allows fog, as it can trigger smoke detectors.
• Ensure good ventilation.
• Never point the nozzle directly at people.
• Do not touch the nozzle, which gets very hot.
• Keep the machine level and refill only when cool.

Maintenance

Run cleaning fluid through the machine periodically to prevent clogging. Do not let the machine run dry, and store it with the tank empty for long breaks.

Fog effects with lighting

Fog and haze work best with moving heads, beam lights and lasers. Place the machine upstage or to the side and let the air flow spread the fog evenly before the show starts.

FAQs about Fog Machines & Fluid

What is the difference between fog and haze?

Fog is thick and dramatic; haze is fine and even, making light beams visible without hiding the stage.

Will a fog machine set off smoke alarms?

It can. Check with the venue and use haze or reduced output in sensitive areas.

What fluid should I use?

Use the water-based fluid recommended by the manufacturer for your machine.

Can I control the fog machine from a lighting desk?

Yes, if it has DMX control.

Is fog safe?

Quality water-based fluids are generally safe when used as directed in ventilated spaces.

How long does the fluid last?

It depends on tank size and output. Most machines run for a long time on a full tank with periodic bursts.

Do you supply event equipment?

Yes. We supply fog machines, audio and lighting-related equipment for events and venues.
