Everyday calling controls

The keypad covers the functions an extension phone needs through a normal working day. Redial repeats the last dialled number without re-entering it, which is useful for engaged lines and repeat calls to the same desk. Flash supports exchange and PBX features such as call waiting and transfer where the connected system provides them, while pause inserts a timed gap in a dialled sequence, helpful when calling through an access code or an automated menu. Mute lets you speak privately away from the caller without putting the handset down. The ringer volume can be adjusted so the phone is audible in a busy room or kept quieter in a small office, and a ring indicator light gives a visual alert alongside the bell.

Tone and pulse dialling

A switchable tone and pulse selector makes the B25 compatible with a wide range of lines. Compatibility and setup

Setup is a plug-in job: connect the handset cord to the base, plug the line cord into a standard telephone socket or PBX extension port, select tone or pulse to suit the line, set the ringer volume and make a test call. The B25 is an analogue telephone, so it connects to an analogue line, an analogue PBX extension or a telephone adapter port that presents an analogue service. It does not plug directly into an Ethernet network socket and it is not an IP phone, even though the sockets can look similar. PBX feature behaviour such as transfer timing depends on the connected system, so test flash functions against your own exchange after installation.
