The Dyson V15 Detect is a cordless stick vacuum that measures what it picks up. A piezo sensor inside counts and sizes dust particles up to 15,000 times a second, increasing suction automatically when it finds more dirt, and the LCD screen shows the particle counts as you clean, so the result is displayed rather than assumed. Behind that sits a Dyson Hyperdymium motor spinning at up to 125,000 rpm, delivering 240 AW of suction in Boost mode through 14 Root Cyclone cyclones that separate dust from the airflow without a bag.

Detection, not just suction

Most vacuums ask you to trust that a floor is clean because it looks clean. The V15 Detect adds evidence. Its piezo sensor generates a tiny electrical charge when particles strike it, which the machine uses to count and size the dust entering the bin 15,000 times per second. In Auto mode, a sustained rise in particle counts tells the vacuum to raise suction where the dirt actually is, then ease back when the counts fall, which saves battery on clean stretches. The LCD groups the counts by particle size and updates in real time, and shows a countdown of run time left, so there are no surprises mid-room.

Two heads, two jobs

The Fluffy Optic head is for hard floors: a precisely angled blade of light at floor level throws dust and debris into relief, showing up the fine layer that overhead lighting hides, while the soft roller picks it up without scattering or scratching. The Digital Motorbar head handles carpets and hard floors in one pass, driving stiff bristles deep into carpet pile and automatically clearing wrapped hair from the brush bar with its de-tangling comb, so long hair and pet hair go into the bin instead of winding around the roller. The cleaner converts to a handheld for stairs, upholstery and car interiors with the smaller tools attached directly.

Filtration, battery and emptying

The fully sealed filtration system captures 99.99% of particles down to 0.1 microns, so the air leaving the machine is not returning fine dust and allergens to the room. Run time reaches 60 minutes in Eco mode on hard floors, with Eco, Auto/Medium and Boost modes on the control; charging takes 4.5 hours. The 14 cyclones keep suction consistent as the 0.77 L bin fills, and emptying is a single point-and-shoot action that drives the shroud down and ejects the contents deep into a bin without contact.

At 3.1 kg and 1,260 mm long in stick form, the V15 Detect is built for whole-home cleaning rather than spot jobs: floors first, with the detection display confirming when a room is genuinely done.
