Belkin Hdmi 5 Mtr Blk Gld

Belkin HDMI 5 Mtr Blk Gld

This Belkin HDMI cable is the 5-metre length in black with gold-plated connectors, listed here as the Belkin HDMI 5 Mtr Blk Gld. HDMI carries digital picture and sound together over one lead, and a 5-metre run is the size needed when the source equipment and the display cannot sit in the same cabinet: a projector at the back of a room, a television wall-mounted away from the AV rack, or a presentation screen across a meeting room. The black jacket keeps the run discreet against dark furniture and trunking.

Key features

• 5-metre cable length for longer equipment-to-display runs
• HDMI digital audio and video over a single cable
• HDMI male connectors at both ends
• Gold-plated connectors for reliable contact
• Black jacket for discreet installation
• Suitable for TVs, projectors, monitors and AV receivers

When a 5-metre cable is the right choice

Short HDMI leads force equipment to stay close to the screen. Five metres lets a media player, set-top box or laptop sit where it is convenient to use, while the television or projector stays where it is convenient to watch. Typical uses include ceiling-mounted projectors, boardroom tables set away from the display, gaming setups where the console sits beside seating, and AV racks placed at the side of a room. Measure the full route, including vertical drops and bends, before deciding that 5 metres is enough.

Connectors and handling

The gold-plated connector contacts resist corrosion, which helps maintain a clean connection at sockets that stay plugged in for months or years. Push the plugs straight in until fully seated and support the cable near the socket so its weight does not lever on the connector, especially on a long run. Avoid tight bends, kinks and trapping the cable in doorways or under chair castors. If the cable is run through trunking or behind furniture, fit it before final positioning of heavy equipment.

Compatibility and expectations

The cable connects any source with an HDMI output to any display or receiver with an HDMI input: televisions, monitors, projectors, AV receivers, set-top boxes, streaming devices, games consoles and computers. The resolutions and features available in a setup are set by the source and display and their HDMI versions. Belkin sells several HDMI cable families with different ratings, and this listing does not state a specific model number or bandwidth figure, so if your setup depends on a particular feature, confirm the requirement against your equipment documentation.

Installation notes

Select the correct HDMI input on the display after connecting, and note that inputs on some televisions differ in the features they enable. Keep long parallel runs alongside mains cables to a minimum where the layout allows it, and label both ends of the cable in multi-device installations so future changes are easy.

The Belkin HDMI 5 Mtr Blk Gld is a long-run HDMI interconnect in black with gold-plated connectors, made for tidy installations where source and screen sit well apart.
