Marshall Emberton III Portable Speaker – Black and Brass

The Marshall Emberton III is the third generation of Marshall’s compact portable speaker, finished here in the signature Black and Brass colourway. It keeps the amp-inspired design the range is known for — textured cabinet, brass control knob styling and the white Marshall script — and backs it with a battery rated beyond 32 hours of portable playtime, so it works as seriously as it looks.

Key features

• More than 32 hours of portable playtime per charge
• Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio, ready for Auracast broadcast audio
• IP67 dustproof and waterproof — submersible in 1m of water for 30 minutes
• Built-in microphone turns the speaker into a hands-free speakerphone
• True Wireless Stereo pairing with a second Emberton III
• Marshall’s True Stereophonic sound — a wide soundstage from a compact cabinet

Sound from a small box

Emberton III uses Marshall’s True Stereophonic approach, a form of spatial rendering that spreads the stereo image wider than the physical cabinet, with dynamic loudness adjusting tone balance as the volume changes so the sound stays full at low levels and controlled at high ones. For a speaker that fits in one hand, the low end is convincingly weighted, and the presentation suits everything from acoustic playlists to full-band rock.

Built to leave the house

An IP67 rating means dust cannot get in and water is not a problem — rain at a picnic, splashes by the pool, or a knock into shallow water are all survivable. At 670 grams it drops into a bag without thought, and USB-C charging with a quick-charge function keeps downtime short between the long stretches of playtime.

Everyday details

The built-in microphone handles calls when your phone is across the room, Bluetooth multipoint-style pairing keeps connections simple, and Auracast readiness means the speaker is prepared for the next generation of shared Bluetooth broadcasts. If you want Marshall character in the most portable form the brand makes, Emberton III in Black and Brass is it.

The Marshall character

Emberton III carries the design language of Marshall’s guitar amplifiers into a speaker that fits in a coat pocket — the fret-style grille texture, the script logo and the brass detailing are deliberate references to sixty years of backline heritage. Unlike novelty retro products, though, the electronics are current: LE Audio support and Auracast readiness put it ahead of most portable speakers for future compatibility, and the battery life is among the longest in its size class. It is the Marshall to buy when the speaker will live on a desk, travel in a bag and be expected to perform at gatherings without a charger in sight.

Charging is over USB-C, a quick ten-minute charge restores a meaningful stretch of playtime, and the speaker remembers paired devices for instant reconnection. Everything about the Emberton III is designed around being grabbed on the way out and still playing when you get back.
