The JBL Tour Pro 3 in the Latte finish is JBL’s flagship true wireless earbud, and its centrepiece is a Smart Charging Case with a colour display that does far more than charge. The case controls playback, noise cancelling and calls without touching your phone, and it doubles as a wireless transmitter: plug it into a laptop, a console or an in-flight screen with the supplied cables and it streams that audio to the earbuds. Two drivers per ear

Each earbud pairs a 10.2 mm dynamic driver for bass and body with a balanced armature driver dedicated to the high frequencies. That split lets treble detail stay clean at volume instead of being smeared by a single diaphragm doing everything. JBL rates the response from 20 Hz to 40 kHz with 104 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz, and Personi-Fi 3.0 in the JBL Headphones app profiles the sound to your hearing, while a full equaliser is there if you prefer your own curve.

The case is the remote — and a transmitter

The display on the case shows battery, playback and call information and lets you adjust volume, EQ and noise modes directly. Its second role is more unusual: connected by USB-C or the supplied USB-C to 3.5 mm cable to a source that has no Bluetooth — an aircraft seatback, an older television, a handheld console — the case transmits that sound to the earbuds. At a desk, the same link gives a stable, low-latency connection to a computer for calls.

Calls and noise control

Six microphones, three per earbud, feed beamforming and noise-reduction processing tuned to keep your voice forward and push wind and crowd noise back. True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 measures the environment continuously and adjusts its strength, Ambient Aware passes the world through at a chosen level, and Smart Talk pauses the music when you start a conversation. Talk time runs to 5.5 hours per charge.

Battery, fit and finish

Expect up to 11 hours with noise cancelling off, 8 hours with it on, and 44 hours in total with case top-ups; a 10-minute charge returns about 5 hours. Five ear tip sizes plus a foam set help find a seal, the earbuds are IP55 rated against dust and water, and the case charges by USB-C or wirelessly.
