Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Open-Ear Headphone (EK Edition)

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 EK Edition Open-Ear Headphones

The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 EK Edition is the flagship open-ear sport headphone from Shokz, produced in collaboration with marathon great Eliud Kipchoge. Nothing goes into or over the ear canal: transducers rest on the cheekbones and deliver sound through a DualPitch system that combines bone conduction for the mids and highs with a dedicated air-conduction driver for bass, solving the weak low end that limited earlier bone-conduction designs.

Key features

• Open-ear design keeps you fully aware of traffic and surroundings
• DualPitch technology pairs bone conduction with an air-conduction bass driver
• Up to 12 hours of battery life, with a 10-minute quick charge adding up to 4 hours
• IP55 sweat and water resistance for training in any weather
• Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint pairing to two devices
• EK Edition styling co-branded with Eliud Kipchoge

Why open-ear for sport

Runners and cyclists face a trade-off with sealed earbuds: music or awareness. The OpenRun Pro 2 removes the trade-off. Your ears stay completely open to traffic, other riders and conversation, while the music sits clearly on top of the world around you. For road training, commuting and group runs, that awareness is a safety feature rather than a compromise.

Sound and calls

The air-conduction driver gives kick drums and bass lines a weight that pure bone conduction cannot reach, and the Shokz app offers EQ modes including a bass-focused profile. Dual microphones with noise reduction and a wind-resistant design keep your voice intelligible on calls taken mid-run, and multipoint pairing means the headphones can sit on both your phone and laptop, switching as needed.

Fit and endurance

The wraparound titanium frame holds the transducers in place without pressure in the ear, and at around 30 grams the headset is easy to forget over long sessions. The IP55 rating shrugs off sweat and rain, and 12 hours of battery covers a week of training or a full ultra-distance day. The EK Edition carries Kipchoge’s branding — fitting for a headphone built for people who measure their weeks in kilometres.

Details for daily training

The OpenRun Pro 2 charges over USB-C, the same cable as most current phones, and a ten-minute top-up before heading out restores up to four hours of playback — enough for any weekday session. Secure fit is the quiet success here: the wraparound frame stays put through intervals, tempo runs and gym work without the pressure points of in-ear tips, and because nothing seals the ear, sweat and heat build-up stay minimal on long summer runs. The Shokz app adds firmware updates and EQ adjustment, and the dual-device pairing means training with a watch or phone while staying connected to a laptop at home requires no re-pairing ritual.
