LG BU60PST Short Throw 4K Laser Projector

LG BU60PST ProBeam 4K Laser Projector

The LG BU60PST is a ProBeam business laser projector that puts 4K UHD resolution and 6,000 ANSI lumens into a 9.7 kg chassis for meeting rooms, classrooms, houses of worship and signage. Its DLP engine projects 3840 x 2160 images from 40 to 300 inches, and the laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours without a lamp change. With a 1.6x zoom, generous lens shift and HDBaseT on board, it is built to be installed once and then used daily by people who never want to think about the projector at all.

Key features

• 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 with HDR10 support
• 6,000 ANSI lumens and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio for lit rooms
• 20,000-hour laser light source with no lamp replacements
• 1.6x zoom and lens shift of plus or minus 50 percent vertical and plus or minus 20 percent horizontal
• HDBaseT connectivity for long single-cable runs of video, control and network
• webOS 4.5 platform with wireless screen sharing, Bluetooth audio output and a built-in browser

Brightness and image

Six thousand ANSI lumens is enough output to keep a large image readable under normal office lighting, and the 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio helps dark presentation slides and video hold their depth. The DLP chip uses XPR pixel shifting to put the full 8.3 million pixels of a 4K frame on screen, and HDR10 material is supported. TruMotion processing is included for smoother motion in video content. Screen sizes from 40 inches up to 300 inches are supported, with a 100-inch image thrown from roughly 2.9 to 4.6 metres depending on zoom position.

Installation flexibility

The zoom range of 1.30 to 2.08:1 throw ratio and the wide lens shift let installers place the unit where the ceiling, lighting and seating allow rather than at one fixed point, and shift corrects the image position without moving the mount. Twelve-point warping adjusts each part of the image geometry individually, which helps on uneven walls and in edge cases such as curved or angled surfaces. IP control and RS-232C allow integration with room control systems, and DICOM simulation support extends the unit’s usefulness to medical education settings where greyscale viewing is discussed.

Sources and sharing

Two HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.2 accept the main wired sources. The RJ45 port carries HDBaseT, delivering uncompressed video and control over a single category cable from a remote rack. Two USB Type-A ports support media and HID devices such as keyboards and mice. For wireless use, Miracast screen sharing mirrors laptops and phones, DLNA devices can share content through the network, Bluetooth sends audio to an external speaker, and the webOS 4.5 platform with its built-in browser can present web content without any computer connected. Built-in speakers total 10 watts in stereo for rooms where separate audio is not fitted.

Running characteristics

Noise is rated at 29 dB(A) in the quietest mode, rising to 33 dB(A) at full brightness, and standby draw is under 0.5 W against a maximum consumption of 440 W. The unit measures approximately 371 x 155 x 325 mm and weighs 9.7 kg.

The BU60PST suits organisations that need genuine 4K detail at high brightness with installation-grade lens adjustment and control: a ProBeam laser projector specified for daily professional use rather than occasional home viewing.
