The LG CineBeam HU915QE is LG’s flagship ultra short throw projector – a premium 4K UHD laser projector that turns a wall into a cinema screen from a few centimetres away. With a 0.19 throw ratio, it projects a 90-inch image from just 5.6 cm, a 100-inch image from 9.8 cm, and a full 120-inch image from only 18.3 cm. It sits on a TV unit like a soundbar, not on a ceiling mount.

The heart of the HU915QE is a 3-channel laser Gen.2 light source that fires separate red, green and blue laser primaries. Compared with the previous generation, it delivers 30% brighter colour expression with virtually no colour loss. Combined with real 4K UHD resolution (8.3 megapixels), 3,700 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, it produces a vivid, detailed picture that stays clear even under indoor ambient lighting.

What a 3-Channel Laser Means for Colour

Single-laser projectors create colour by filtering white light, which wastes energy and leaves some colours muted. The HU915QE’s 3-channel laser generates red, green and blue light directly from three dedicated lasers. Nothing is filtered away, so the primaries stay pure: reds look deep instead of orange-shifted, greens carry foliage detail, and mixed colours hold their saturation at high brightness. That is what virtually preventing colour loss means in practice – the colour you paid for in the image survives the journey to the wall.

Its 3,700 ANSI lumens keep the image punchy with the lights on, and the built-in ambient sensor in Brightness Optimizer II recognises the room’s lighting and automatically selects the right energy-saving level – bright-room and dark-room behaviour handled without menu diving. Adaptive Contrast goes further, modulating laser output frame by frame so bright scenes pop and dark scenes keep their detail. It is projection that adapts to the room, not the other way around.
