Four Evolution Preamps with APHEX Processing
The RodeCaster Pro II houses four identical Rode Evolution microphone preamps, representing a significant upgrade from the first generation. These preamps deliver 74dB of gain range, low noise, and transparent sound quality that reveals the full character of any microphone from dynamic broadcast mics to sensitive condensers. Each preamp channel includes Rode's proprietary APHEX audio processing suite, comprising an Aural Exciter for adding presence and clarity, a Big Bottom processor for extending low-frequency weight, a compressor, a noise gate, a high-pass filter, and a fully parametric equaliser – all the tools required to achieve a polished, broadcast-quality sound directly from the console without requiring additional outboard processing or software plugins.

Each pad can be assigned to play back, loop, or latch, and the colour of the pad illumination changes to indicate its current state.
