Ahuja FMX-108DP Mixer

Ahuja FMX-108DP Mixer

The Ahuja FMX-108DP is a compact eight-channel PA mixer that combines microphone and line inputs, a built-in MP3 player and recorder, Bluetooth playback and a digital effects section in one portable unit. It is made for small PA work where a handful of microphones, some background music and a touch of echo or reverb have to be handled by one operator without a rack of separate equipment.

Two balanced XLR microphone inputs come with switchable 48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. Four more low-impedance microphones can be connected through 6.3 mm stereo jack sockets in balanced or unbalanced configuration, and up to six line-level sources can be fed in the same way. A separate stereo input channel handles music sources, with a push switch selecting between channels 7/8 and the USB player channel.

Key features

• Eight-channel PA mixer in a compact, portable body measuring 345 x 75 x 210 mm
• Two balanced XLR microphone inputs with switchable 48 V phantom power
• Four additional low-impedance microphone inputs on 6.3 mm jack sockets
• Built-in MP3 player and recorder with USB reader, plus Bluetooth playback
• Digital effects processor with delay, repeat and level controls
• Two-band bass and treble equalisation on each channel, with gain and effects level per channel

Control layout

Each channel carries its own gain control so microphone and line sensitivities can be matched before they reach the master section, and a peak LED warns when an input is being driven too hard. The active bass and treble controls allow up to 15 dB of cut or boost at 80 Hz and 12 kHz, enough to tame a boomy room or add clarity to a dull microphone. Separate effects level controls per channel mean one voice can carry echo while another stays dry, and independent master volume controls for the left and right line outputs keep the final balance easy to manage.

Player, effects and outputs

The digital player records and plays back MP3 files through USB, and Bluetooth is available for wireless music from a phone or tablet, which covers background music and interval playback without extra hardware. The built-in digital signal processing provides a delay that can be varied from 20 to 300 milliseconds, with repeat and level controls for the familiar echo used on announcements and devotional singing. Line-level left and right outputs feed a power amplifier, and a headphone output with its own volume control allows the operator to check the mix quietly.

Where it fits

With a signal-to-noise ratio above 68 dB, distortion below 0.1 percent and a frequency response of 25 Hz to 20 kHz, the FMX-108DP is suited to announcements, small musical programmes, tuition and coaching classes, prayer halls, community events and mobile presenters. It runs on 220-240 V AC mains and weighs about 1.85 kg, so it travels easily between venues.

For anyone who needs microphones, music playback, recording and effects in a single compact mixer, the FMX-108DP keeps the setup simple and the controls within easy reach.
