Saregama Carvaan Mini 2.0 Gurbani

Saregama Carvaan Mini 2.0 Gurbani

The Saregama Carvaan Mini 2.0 Gurbani is a pocket-sized portable music player preloaded with one hundred Paaths and Bhajans: Gurbani and Shabad Kirtan drawn from the Guru Granth Sahib and sung by respected Sikh Ragis. It is built for the place Gurbani holds in daily life: morning meditation, prayer at home, listening at the gurdwara, and family occasions where the Shabad is part of the gathering. The library is already inside the unit, so it plays at the press of a button with no phone, no internet connection and no searching through apps or videos to find a particular Paath.

A library of the Shabad, ready without a phone

Gurbani is sung in kirtan style, in the ragas prescribed in the Guru Granth Sahib, and this collection gathers one hundred Paaths and Bhajans recorded by Ragis who have devoted their lives to that singing. Bhai Tarlochan Singh Ji’s renditions include Japji Sahib, Rehras Sahib and Ardas, the prayers that frame a Sikh day from morning to evening. Bhai Gopal Singh Ragi, whose recordings come from the celebrated 50 Glorious Years of Recorded Shabads series, contributes Paaths such as Tu Mera Pita and Khalsa Mero Roop Hai Khas. Having these recordings curated in one device, in a fixed order you can learn and return to, is a different experience from hunting for them online each morning: the player simply becomes part of the routine, like the prayer itself.

Built around daily practice

The Mini 2.0 format suits the way this player gets used. It is small enough to keep on a bedside table, carry to the gurdwara, or take along while travelling, and the simple mode buttons mean an elder can start the preloaded library without asking anyone to set up a phone. The rechargeable battery runs for up to four hours, covering a morning’s listening or an evening of Paath without a cable in the way. For quiet, personal listening, the 3.5 mm jack takes headphones, and the same socket or the aux input connects the player to a larger speaker when the family gathers.

More than the preloaded library

Beyond the Saregama mode, the player works as a general portable speaker. Bluetooth streams from a phone or tablet when you want your own recordings, a USB drive plays a personal collection, and the built-in FM and AM radio covers local stations, news and live broadcasts. That makes the unit useful through the whole day rather than only at prayer time, while the preloaded Gurbani remains one button away whenever it is wanted.

A considered gift

For parents and grandparents, for a housewarming, a wedding in the family or Gurpurab, a player that carries the Shabad respectfully and plays it without fuss is a gift with real meaning. It asks nothing of the listener beyond pressing a button, and it keeps Japji Sahib, Rehras Sahib and Ardas within reach every single day.

The Carvaan Mini 2.0 Gurbani puts one hundred Paaths and Bhajans, sung by devoted Ragis, into a small rechargeable player that also handles Bluetooth, USB and radio, so devotion and everyday listening live in the same pocket-sized unit.
