Denon AVR-X250BT 5.1 Home Theatre Package with Pure Acoustics MovieMate PHT851

Denon AVR-X250BT Pure Acoustics PHT851 5.1 Home Theatre Package

The Denon AVR-X250BT Pure Acoustics PHT851 5.1 Home Theatre Package is a complete surround sound system in one purchase: the Denon AVR-X250BT 5.1 AV receiver plus the Pure Acoustics MovieMate PHT851 5.1 satellite speaker package. Five compact satellites and a 10-inch down-firing subwoofer cover every channel of a film soundtrack, and the Denon receiver drives them, switches five HDMI sources and streams music over Bluetooth. It is the straightforward route to real home theatre sound for rooms where full-size tower and bookshelf speakers will not fit or are not wanted, with no separate receiver hunt and no guessing about matching.

Why Choose the Denon AVR-X250BT Pure Acoustics PHT851 5.1 Home Theatre Package?

A speaker package bought alone still needs a receiver, and a receiver bought alone still needs speakers that suit it. This package answers both at once. The Denon AVR-X250BT delivers 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and handles speaker loads from 4 to 16 ohms, so it drives the compact Pure Acoustics satellites comfortably in small to medium rooms. Because the five PHT851 satellites were designed and voiced to work together from the start, dialogue stays anchored to the screen, effects pan smoothly around the room, and the subwoofer takes over the low frequencies that small satellites physically cannot reproduce. The result is a matched system, not a collection of parts that happen to share a room.

Key Features

• Complete 5.1 system in one box: Five Pure Acoustics satellites (front left/right, centre, surround left/right) plus a 10-inch down-firing subwoofer, paired with the Denon AVR-X250BT receiver — every loudspeaker and the electronics a surround system needs.
• Denon AVR-X250BT receiver: 5.1 channels at 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding for lossless Blu-ray soundtracks.
• 4K HDR video switching: Five HDMI inputs and one ARC output with 4K/60 pass-through, HDR10, HLG and HDCP 2.2, connecting a TV, set-top box, console and streamer through one cable to the television.
• Bluetooth music streaming: Built-in Bluetooth with Compressed Audio Restorer for better sound from compressed phone audio, plus two optical, two analogue and two composite inputs for older sources.
• Compact satellites, flexible placement: The PHT851 satellites wall-mount or sit on a shelf, the subwoofer sits on the floor, and the whole system suits rooms where large speakers are not practical.
• Simple setup: Standard 5.1 layout, speaker-cable connections throughout, AM/FM tuner with RDS, and Denon’s guided setup for level and distance.

Best Suited For

The Denon AVR-X250BT Pure Acoustics PHT851 5.1 Home Theatre Package suits living rooms, bedrooms and small media rooms where a full-size speaker system is too large but TV speakers or a soundbar are not enough. It fits first-time home theatre buyers who want a finished system, apartment owners who need big sound from small boxes, and anyone upgrading from a soundbar to true discrete surround sound with a proper AV receiver at the centre.

Setup and Connection Guide

Place two satellites as front left and right flanking the screen at ear level, one satellite as the centre directly below or above the television, and two satellites as surrounds to the sides of or slightly behind the seating. Place the subwoofer on the floor near the front of the room. Connect all five satellites to the matching speaker terminals on the AVR-X250BT with speaker cable, connect the subwoofer to the receiver’s subwoofer pre-out, and connect sources to the HDMI inputs with the HDMI output going to the television’s ARC port. Run Denon’s setup for speaker levels and distances, then select the Dolby or DTS surround mode for films and Bluetooth for music from a phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy anything else to get this system running?

No. The package contains the receiver, all five satellites and the subwoofer. You only need speaker cable, an HDMI cable to the television and a source such as a set-top box, console or streaming device.

Can the satellites be wall-mounted?

Yes. The PHT851 satellites are designed for wall-mount or shelf placement, so the front and surround speakers can go on the wall beside or behind the seating without floor stands.

Is this package suitable for music as well as movies?

Yes. The matched satellites and the Denon receiver’s stereo modes suit music listening, and Bluetooth streaming covers casual music from a phone, while the full 5.1 layout is there for films.
