The DJI Mic 3 is a compact wireless microphone system for cameras, phones and computers. This kit contains two transmitters, one receiver and a charging case. Each transmitter weighs just 16 g with its magnet, records internally in 32-bit float to 32 GB of built-in storage, and sends lossless 48 kHz audio to the receiver over a dual-band link. Adaptive gain control, three voice tones, two levels of noise cancelling and integrated timecode address clipping, uneven levels, background noise and sync drift.

Recording that protects the take

Internal recording is the safety net of this system. Each transmitter stores audio on its own 32 GB memory in 32-bit float, a format with enough dynamic range to recover a shouted line or a whispered one in editing instead of losing it to clipping or burying it in noise. Dual-file recording options let you keep an original and a processed version. Because the backup lives on the transmitter itself, a momentary wireless dropout does not mean a lost sentence: the clean file is already on the mic worn by the speaker.

Wireless link and gain handling

The Mic 3 hops automatically between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, which keeps the connection steadier in busy venues, offices and streets where the 2.4 GHz band alone is crowded. DJI rates the maximum transmission distance at 400 m in open, unobstructed conditions. Adaptive gain control balances volume automatically as a speaker turns away, moves closer or raises their voice, reducing the constant manual riding of levels during an interview or a walk-and-talk piece.

Voice shaping, noise cancelling and sync

Three voice tones let you match the recording to the subject and the room without opening an editor: Regular for a neutral result, Rich for fuller low end, Bright for extra clarity. Two noise cancelling levels, Basic and Strong, reduce steady background sound such as air conditioning, traffic or crowd wash at the point of capture. Integrated timecode, with drift of less than one frame in 24 hours, keeps audio from the transmitters aligned with camera footage and other recorders across a long shooting day.

Battery, handling and compatibility

A transmitter runs for up to 8 hours and the receiver for up to 10 hours; the charging case takes total use to up to 28 hours and recharges the set together. A 5-minute fast charge gives around 2 hours of use. Transmitters attach with a magnet or a rotating magnetic clip, connect directly by Bluetooth to compatible DJI devices and phones, and the receiver works with cameras over 3.5 mm TRS, with phones over USB-C and with computers as a USB audio device. For interviews, vlogs, journalism and teaching, this two-channel kit can grow to four transmitters for panel recordings.
