Dyson V12S Detect Slim Submarine Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson V12S Detect Slim Submarine Vacuum Cleaner

The Dyson V12s Detect Slim Submarine is Dyson’s lightest cordless vacuum — with a second job. Alongside the vacuum itself, the Submarine wet roller head washes hard floors with clean water from start to finish: eight jets feed 18 ml of water a minute onto a motorised microfibre roller, which picks up spills, debris and stains while a squeegee plate continuously extracts the dirty water into a separate tray, so you never mop with dirty water.

As a vacuum it is the full V12 Detect Slim formula: a Hyperdymium motor at up to 125,000 rpm giving 150 AW of boost suction, a piezo dust sensor with LCD particle reporting, a light-revealing Fluffy Optic head, and whole-machine HEPA filtration — in the slim, light format the V12 is known for.

Key Features

• Submarine wet roller head washes hard floors with continuously refreshed clean water
• 300 ml clean water tank covers up to 110 sq. m.; dirty water collected in a separate 360 ml tray
• 150 AW suction (Boost) from the Hyperdymium motor
• Fluffy Optic cleaner head reveals microscopic dust with a blade of light
• Piezo sensor counts particles and auto-adjusts suction; LCD shows results in real time
• Whole-machine HEPA filtration: 99.99% of particles down to 0.1 microns
• Up to 60 minutes of run time
• Compact 0.35 L bin with hygienic point-and-shoot emptying
• Motorbar cleaner head with de-tangling for carpets (bundle dependent)
• Converts to handheld with tools for stairs, upholstery and cars

How the Submarine Head Washes Properly

A mop spreads dirty water thinner and thinner. The Submarine head works differently: a pressurised chamber feeds eight evenly spaced jets, so the roller is always wet with clean water at a controlled 18 ml per minute; each rotation, the extraction plate scrapes the roller and pulls the dirty water into its own 360 ml tray. Spills, dried sauce, muddy paw prints — they leave with the roller instead of being pushed around the floor.

Dyson’s Lightest Format

The V12 platform trades the V15’s bigger bin for a slimmer, lighter machine that is easier to push, carry upstairs and use overhead. The dust sensor and LCD keep the scientific feedback of the flagship Detect models, and the four modes (Eco, Medium, Auto, Boost) balance runtime against suction automatically when the Fluffy Optic head is fitted.

Where the V12s Fits

Homes with mostly hard floors — tile, marble, laminate, wood — where mopping is a weekly chore worth automating into the vacuum, smaller flats where the slim format stores easily, and pet homes dealing with spills and paw prints as well as hair.
