Ray-Ban Meta Skyler Smart Glasses (Gen 1) Shiny Chalky Grey with Transitions Sapphire Lenses, 52mm

Ray-Ban Meta Skyler Smart Glasses Gen 1 (Shiny Chalky Grey, Transitions Sapphire)

The Ray-Ban Meta Skyler (Gen 1) puts a camera, open-ear audio and Meta AI into a cat-eye-inspired frame drawn from Ray-Ban’s 1960s archive styling. This version pairs the Shiny Chalky Grey frame, in the 52 mm size, with Transitions Sapphire lenses that stay clear indoors and take on a sapphire tint in sunlight. It captures photos and video, plays audio and answers questions entirely hands-free.

Camera and capture

The 12 MP ultra-wide camera records the scene from your own point of view, for travel, events and everyday moments a phone camera would miss. Photos are captured at 3024 x 4032 pixels and video at 1440 x 1920 pixels at 30 frames per second, in the portrait format used by social and messaging apps. A capture button and temple controls start recording without breaking stride, and a capture LED beside the camera shows the people around you when recording is active. Clips and stills transfer to the companion app on your phone, ready to review, edit and share.

Audio, microphones and Meta AI

Two custom-built open-ear speakers direct sound towards your ears while leaving them uncovered, so music, podcasts and calls stay private enough for everyday use while traffic, conversation and platform announcements remain audible. The five-microphone array, with microphones in both temples and at the nose pad, is tuned to isolate your voice for calls and voice commands, including in breezy outdoor conditions. With Meta AI built in, you can ask questions, get information about what you are looking at, send messages and control capture by voice, without reaching for your phone at all.

Lenses, fit and everyday wear

Skyler’s softer cat-eye shape suits a wide range of faces, and this 52 mm standard size in Shiny Chalky Grey keeps the styling close to classic Ray-Ban eyewear rather than wearable technology. The Transitions Sapphire lenses are the practical centre of this version: they respond to changing light, remaining clear for indoor wear and darkening to a sapphire tint outdoors, so one pair covers the office, the street and the drive home. Model RW4010. The frames are designed for all-day wear, with the electronics integrated into the temples so the balance and fit stay close to ordinary glasses.

Battery, storage and connectivity

The glasses run for up to 4 hours of continuous use on a charge, and the included charging case carries up to 36 hours of additional charge, topping the frames up each time they are put away. Onboard storage of 32 GB holds over 500 photos and more than 100 short video clips. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 handle the connection to your phone, and the glasses work with iOS 14.2 and Android 10 or later. For anyone who wants capture, audio and assistance in eyewear they would happily wear anyway, the Skyler Gen 1 in this finish is the complete package.
