Seagate One Touch Hub 4TB External Hard Drive

Seagate One Touch Hub 4TB External Hard Drive

The Seagate One Touch Hub is a desktop external hard drive with 4 TB of storage and a built-in front-facing USB hub. Alongside the main storage connection, the front panel provides a USB-C port and a USB 3.0 port, so external drives, memory devices and phones can be connected or recharged directly from the hub on the desk. The drive is password protected, works with Windows and Mac computers out of the box, and includes Seagate Toolkit software for backup and file mirroring, together with Rescue Data Recovery Services.

Storage and hub in one desktop unit

Most desktop drives provide storage and nothing else, which means a separate hub is often needed on a crowded desk. The One Touch Hub combines both roles. The 4 TB capacity provides room for large photo and video libraries, project archives, media collections and full computer backups. The front hub ports are positioned for everyday access, so a phone, a portable drive or another USB device can be plugged in without reaching behind the computer. Because the hub remains powered from the drive’s own power adapter, connected devices can continue to recharge even when the computer itself is switched off.

Backup and file mirroring with Toolkit

Seagate Toolkit software is included as a downloadable application and handles the backup routines for the drive. It supports one-click backups for quick manual copies and scheduled backups that run automatically at a set time. File mirroring keeps a mirror folder synchronised, so changes made in the folder on the computer are reflected on the drive. Used regularly, these tools turn the drive into a structured backup destination rather than a collection of manually copied folders whose completeness is hard to verify.

Security and data recovery cover

Password protection helps secure the contents of the drive, which matters when a desktop drive holds client work, financial records or personal archives. Rescue Data Recovery Services are included with the drive. If data is lost through accidental deletion, drive failure or an unexpected event such as water damage, the Rescue service provides a professional recovery route, with the work carried out by Seagate’s recovery specialists. The drive should still be treated as one part of a backup plan rather than the only copy of irreplaceable files.

Compatibility and setup

The drive connects over USB 3.0, also described as USB 3.2 Gen 1, and is formatted for use with both Windows and Mac computers out of the box, so it can be moved between systems without immediate reformatting. It is a mains-powered desktop model, supplied with a USB 3.0 cable and an 18 W power adapter, and is intended to remain on a workstation desk rather than travel in a laptop bag. The enclosure measures 198.5 x 129.9 x 45.3 mm and weighs 1.24 kg. Model number for this 4 TB version is STLC4000400, finished in black.
