The Sharge Retro 67W GaN Charger, model S067U, packs a full 67 watts of USB-C charging into a body styled after a classic 1980s desktop computer, complete with a working dot-matrix display on the front. Under the retro shell it is a modern three-port gallium nitride charger: any single USB-C port can deliver up to 67W, enough for a thin-and-light laptop, while the three ports together let one small charger cover a laptop, a phone and an accessory from a single wall socket. It is built for people who want one charger that does every job, and who would rather look at a tiny retro computer on the desk than another plain black brick.
Most chargers give no sign of what they are actually doing, so a phone that is crawling along at a trickle looks exactly like one that is fast charging. The Retro 67 puts a small dot-matrix screen where the classic computer’s monitor would be, and it shows the live power output as you charge. Plug a device in and the number appears; add a second device and you can watch the total change as the charger redistributes power between the ports. When nothing is charging, the screen runs a falling digital rain animation in the style of the films that inspired the design, and a light-control system keeps the display brightness comfortable at night. It sounds like a novelty, but in daily use the readout is genuinely useful for checking that a laptop is negotiating the wattage it should, or that a cable is not silently limiting the charge.
Used with one device, the Retro 67 gives that device its full rated output of up to 67W, which covers the charging requirements of ultraportable laptops such as a MacBook Air, as well as fast charging for phones and tablets. Connect a second device and the charger splits its output as published by the maker, 45W to one port and 20W to the other, so the laptop keeps a healthy share while the phone charges alongside it. With all three ports in use, the lead port still holds 45W and the remaining output is shared between the other two ports, which suits a phone, earbuds or a watch charging overnight next to the laptop. The charger negotiates the correct voltage and current with each connected device automatically, and devices that support Programmable Power Supply charging can draw the finer-grained voltage steps that PPS provides.
Gallium nitride transistors switch more efficiently than the silicon parts in older chargers, wasting less energy as heat. That is what allows 67W of output from a body roughly the size of a matchbox, where a conventional charger of the same rating would be far larger and heavier. Less wasted heat also means the charger can sustain its output in a bag-friendly, fanless design with no moving parts. For travel, the difference is simple: this one charger replaces the separate laptop brick, phone charger and accessory plug that would otherwise fill a pouch, and its folding prongs sit flat against the body when it is packed away.
Anything that charges over USB-C is fair game. A USB-C laptop is the headline use, and 67W is the rating many thin-and-light machines ship with. Phones from Apple, Samsung, Google and others fast-charge from the same ports, tablets charge at their full USB-C rates, and small accessories such as earbuds, watches, handheld consoles and cameras top up from whichever port is free. Because all three ports are USB-C, there is no hunting for the one legacy socket that matches an old cable; a small set of USB-C cables covers everything on the desk.
Choose the Retro 67 if your charging setup has become a tangle of single-purpose bricks and you want one compact charger with enough output for a laptop and enough ports for everything else. The retro-computer styling and live power display make it a desk piece as much as a tool, and the GaN internals, three USB-C ports and published multi-port splits make it a serious one.
