Edifier MF3 Portable Voice Amplifier (Black)

Edifier MF3 Portable Voice Amplifier (Black)

The Edifier MF3 is a portable voice amplifier for people who speak to groups for a living: teachers, lecturers, tour guides, coaches, trainers and presenters. You wear the compact amplifier body at the waist or over the shoulder, position the headset microphone near your mouth, and your natural speaking voice carries clearly across a classroom, training hall or tour group without shouting. Its 3 W output is tuned for speech, the frequency response of 600 Hz to 11 kHz concentrates on the range where voices live, and the battery runs for up to twenty hours, which covers days of lessons or tours between charges. In black, it looks professional and stays out of the way.

Clear speech without straining your voice

Raising your voice for hours is exhausting and, for teachers and guides, a genuine occupational hazard. The MF3 removes the strain by doing the projection work electronically. Spoken at a normal conversational level into the headset microphone, your voice is amplified evenly across the room, so the back row hears the same clarity as the front. Because the response is concentrated on the speech band rather than spread across deep bass the voice does not need, the output stays intelligible and avoids the boomy, harsh character of amplifiers that try to be music speakers first. Students follow the lesson, tour groups stay together, and your voice is still fresh at the end of the day.

Headset microphone and anti-howling design

The included headset microphone keeps both hands free for the board, the demonstration or the group you are leading. Edifier’s guidance is to wear the microphone near the left side of the mouth, with the foam cover fitted to filter interfering sounds, and the system is designed to resist howling, the feedback squeal that plagues cheap amplifiers when the microphone gets close to the speaker. With the amplifier worn at the waist or on a shoulder strap and the headset correctly positioned, the setup stays stable as you move around the room, turn to write, or walk a group between stops.

Controls and inputs

Operation is deliberately simple. A single rotary knob switches the unit on with a click and then controls volume as you turn it further, so there are no menus to learn mid-lesson. An indicator LED shows power status, and a separate charging indicator shows red while charging and goes out when the battery is full. Alongside the microphone input there is a 3.5 mm AUX input, so the MF3 can also play music from a phone or player for classroom activities, warm-ups or presentations with audio content. That second role makes it a more useful daily tool than a single-purpose megaphone.

Battery and charging

The rechargeable battery delivers up to twenty hours of use, which for most teachers means a full teaching week and for guides several full tours before a recharge is needed. Charging is over the Type-C port marked DC IN, using a standard 5 V, 1 A supply, the same class of adapter used for phones. The charging LED gives an unambiguous status, lit red while charging and off when complete, after which the cable should be unplugged. There is no battery swapping or proprietary charger to keep track of, which keeps the MF3 easy to manage in a school, training centre or tour operation.

Who it suits and daily use

The MF3 suits classroom teaching, coaching and fitness instruction, guided tours, community and religious gatherings, market demonstrations and conference presenting, anywhere one voice needs to reach a group comfortably. It is compact enough to carry between rooms or venues, discreet in black, and quick to set up: clip it on, fit the headset, turn the knob and speak. For anyone whose work depends on being heard clearly all day, it replaces vocal strain with a calm, amplified speaking voice.
