Belkin 8-Outlet Power Strip, 2 Metre

Belkin 8-Outlet Power Strip, 2 Metre Cable

This Belkin power strip provides eight mains outlets on a 2 metre cable, the practical answer to the modern desk and AV cabinet where one wall socket must serve a screen, a computer, powered speakers, chargers and a lamp. The 2 metre reach lets the strip sit where the equipment is rather than where the builder put the socket. The listing does not state a retail part number or a surge-protection rating, so check the total-load and protection specification printed on the supplied unit before connecting high-draw equipment.

Key features

• Eight mains outlets from one wall socket
• 2 metre cable for flexible placement
• Organises power for desks, workstations and AV cabinets
• Plan plug spacing: large adapters may cover neighbouring outlets
• Check the rating label on the unit for total load and protection spec
• Indoor use on a suitably rated mains connection

Eight outlets is a plan, not just a number

The useful question is not how many sockets a strip has but whether your actual plugs fit at once. Wall adapters and power bricks are wider than plain plugs and can cover the neighbouring outlet, so lay out the equipment list first: screen, computer, speakers, chargers. The 2 metre cable then decides where the strip can live so everything reaches without strain, behind a desk, inside an AV cabinet or along a workstation.

Power discipline still applies

A power strip shares one wall connection; it does not multiply the supply. Add up the draw of what you connect and keep the total within the rating printed on the unit. The strip is a distribution and organisation device, not a battery backup, and a surge-protection figure should only be relied on if the supplied unit’s label states one. Position it dry and ventilated, with cables routed away from chair wheels and foot traffic.

Where it earns its place

Home offices, studio desks and AV racks all accumulate devices that each arrived with their own plug. A quality eight-outlet strip from a established accessories maker replaces the daisy-chain of travel adapters and cube taps that otherwise grows behind the furniture, and gives every device a proper, seated connection.

Buying once, properly

Power strips are invisible until they are not: a loose socket, a brittle case or a cable that kinks at the entry are the failures that arrive years in. A strip from an established accessories brand, used within its printed rating and placed with sensible cable routing, is the buy-once version of this purchase. It is also the tidy one: eight devices on one strip on one cable run reads as an installation, where a nest of adapters reads as an accident waiting for a cleaner.

For a desk or AV setup that has outgrown its wall sockets, this Belkin strip brings eight outlets to where the equipment is, on a 2 metre cable.
