Belkin HDMI Cable, 1 Metre — Black

Belkin HDMI Cable 1 Metre Black

This Belkin HDMI cable is a one-metre, black lead for the shortest and most common connection in modern AV: a source sitting right next to its screen. A streaming box under the television, a console beside the display, a laptop on the desk in front of a monitor, a media player stacked with an AV receiver — these setups do not need three metres of cable coiled behind the unit. They need one clean metre that carries picture and sound from an HDMI output to an HDMI input, and that is exactly what this cable is for.

Key features

• HDMI to HDMI connection for audio and video
• 1-metre length for short, tidy equipment links
• Black finish that disappears behind media units
• Gold-coloured connector contacts
• From Belkin, a long-established accessories brand
• Suits TVs, monitors, projectors, consoles and AV receivers

Why a short cable is the right cable

Excess cable length is not harmless. Surplus HDMI lead gets coiled, stuffed behind equipment or trapped under a media unit, where it collects dust, strains its own connectors and makes every later change harder. A one-metre cable matched to a one-metre gap routes in a single gentle run, keeps the rear of the setup accessible, and leaves the connectors unstressed. When the source and screen genuinely sit together — in a rack, on a desk, inside a cabinet — the short cable is not the budget option; it is the correct installation choice.

Choosing and checking the connection

HDMI carries many formats, and what you can actually use depends on the complete chain: the source, this cable, and the display or receiver must all support the resolution, refresh rate and audio format you intend. Connector appearance alone — including gold-coloured contacts — does not establish an HDMI version or a bandwidth rating, so for specification-led setups, confirm the rating printed for the exact cable and test the intended picture and sound settings through the full chain before final routing, especially if a receiver, switch or adapter sits between source and screen. For everyday HD and the formats typical of a short living-room or desk link, connect, select the format on the source, and verify with real content.

Typical connections

Use it between a set-top box, streaming stick host or Blu-ray player and a television; between a games console and a monitor; between a laptop and a desk display for presentations and work; or between sources and an AV receiver inside an equipment rack, where short patch-style links keep the rack tidy. Projector users with a ceiling-mounted source shelf, and digital-signage setups with the player mounted behind the screen, are also natural one-metre runs.

Fitting notes

HDMI plugs insert one way up — never force one. Seat each end fully, avoid bending the cable sharply right at the connector, and do not let heavy equipment rest on the run. If the picture drops when equipment is moved, check seating at both ends before suspecting the devices.
