Cadyce CA-CAUC USB-C to 3.5 mm Audio Adapter

Cadyce CA-CAUC USB-C to 3.5 mm Audio Adapter

Most current smartphones, tablets and slim laptops have dropped the 3.5 mm headphone socket, which leaves owners of good wired earphones, headphones and speakers with nothing to plug into. The Cadyce CA-CAUC is a compact 2-in-1 adapter that solves this: it plugs into a USB-C port and gives you back a 3.5 mm audio jack, while a second USB-C port on the adapter passes charging power through to the device at the same time.

That second port is the part that matters day to day. With a plain audio dongle you must choose between listening and charging; with the CA-CAUC you can keep a podcast or call running while the phone charges, which is exactly what long drives, work desks and travel days demand.

Key Features

• USB-C male connector for phones, tablets and laptops without a 3.5 mm jack
• 3.5 mm audio jack for wired earphones, headphones, speakers and microphones
• USB-C PD charging port, so audio and charging work simultaneously
• Supports USB PD 3.0 fast charging, handling up to 60 W
• Auto-switch audio jack detection recognises the connected headphone automatically
• Bus-powered from the host device – no external power supply or driver needed
• Works with Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux, iOS and Android devices

How USB-C Audio and PD Pass-Through Work

USB-C carries digital audio, so the adapter converts the phone’s digital output into the analogue signal your 3.5 mm headphones expect. The auto-detection feature identifies the connected headset as soon as it is plugged in, sparing you manual audio routing in settings. The charging side uses USB Power Delivery 3.0, the standard fast-charge protocol that negotiates the right voltage with the charger; Cadyce rates the port for up to 60 W, enough for fast charging phones and for keeping tablets and many laptops topped up while you listen. Power through USB-C flows in whichever direction the connected devices negotiate, so the same port that charges your phone from a wall adapter can also be fed from a power bank on the move.

Everyday Use Cases

Use the CA-CAUC with your favourite wired earphones on a phone that has no headphone jack, keep a wired headset connected through a full day of calls without watching the battery, or plug a laptop into wired speakers while it charges from a single USB-C cable run. Its 60 x 20 x 10 mm body and 145 mm cable keep it pocketable, the matte white finish resists looking scuffed in a bag, and non-corrosive metal pins keep contact reliable over repeated plugging.
