MX Spy Guard 6-Outlet Power Strip (5m)

MX Spy Guard 6-Outlet Power Strip (5m)

The MX Spy Guard is a six-outlet power strip built for the corner of the room where everything actually lives: the TV, the soundbar or amplifier, a streaming box, a console, chargers and a lamp, all competing for two wall sockets. It gives each device its own universal socket, its own switch and a share of proper protection, and it does it on a 5-metre cord that reaches the wall outlet instead of forcing the furniture to move to the power.

Key features

• Six universal sockets for a wide range of Indian and international plugs
• Individual colour-coded switch for every outlet
• Built-in spike guard and circuit breaker protection
• LED indicator shows when the strip is live
• Child-safety shutters on every socket
• 5-metre cord for flexible placement

Six outlets, each under your control

Most power strips switch everything at once, which means the standby drain and the wear apply to every connected device whether it is in use or not. The Spy Guard puts an individual, colour-coded switch on each of its six outlets. Leave the Wi-Fi router on around the clock, switch the amplifier and TV together only for movie night, and keep a charger isolated until a phone actually needs it. The colour coding makes it easy to remember which switch belongs to which device, even in the tangle behind a media unit, and the LED indicator confirms at a glance that the strip itself is powered.

Protection for the equipment plugged into it

A power strip that only multiplies sockets is a missed opportunity. The Spy Guard adds a built-in spike guard to absorb the sudden voltage spikes that ride in on the mains during storms, generator changeovers and grid fluctuations, plus a circuit breaker that trips under overload instead of letting the strip and everything on it take the hit. Neither replaces a whole-home surge protector, but for the equipment that sits on the end of this strip — a television, an AV receiver, a powered speaker — it is a sensible layer of cheap insurance against the most common electrical events in Indian homes and venues.

A 5-metre cord that reaches the real outlet

The generous 5-metre cord is what makes this strip practical in real rooms. Wall sockets are rarely where the equipment rack ends up: they hide behind sofas, across the room or up a wall. Five metres lets the strip sit inside the media unit, on the desk or behind the stage-side rack while the plug travels to the socket, without daisy-chaining extension boards or stretching a short cord across a walkway. Route it along the skirting, coil the excess neatly, and the installation stays tidy.

Where it earns its place

Home theatres and living rooms are the obvious home — one strip runs the screen, the sound system and the sources, each switchable. It serves just as well under an office desk with a monitor, laptop charger, printer and desk lamp, in a small studio powering monitors, an interface and a keyboard from one board, or in a classroom or clinic where several low-draw devices need organised, individually controlled power. The child-safety shutters on every socket also make it a calmer choice for family spaces, closing off the live contacts when a plug is removed.

If your setup has outgrown the wall socket and you want the extra outlets organised, switched and protected rather than improvised, the MX Spy Guard is the straightforward way to do it.
