Belkin HDMI Cable 5 Metre Black Nickel

The Belkin HDMI cable in the five-metre length, finished in black with nickel-plated connectors, is the long interconnect for rooms where the source and the screen are not neighbours. Five metres reaches from a media player or console in a rack to a wall-mounted television, from a laptop on a conference table to the room’s display, or from an AV receiver to a projector, without stacking couplers or stretching a short cable tight across the room. It carries digital audio and video over the single standard HDMI connection used by televisions, monitors, projectors and source devices.

Key features

• Nickel-plated connector finish
• Black cable and connector finish
• Digital audio and video over one cable
• Standard HDMI fit for TVs, monitors, projectors and sources

Why the length is the specification

Most HDMI problems in a finished room are geometry problems. Equipment lives where the furniture and power points are; screens live where viewing works. A five-metre cable bridges that gap in one run, which keeps the signal path simple and removes the failure points that extension couplers introduce. It also leaves enough slack to route along skirting, through cable channels or behind furniture rather than across open floor, and to pull a device out of a rack for servicing without disconnecting the display.

Fitting and care

HDMI connectors seat with a firm push and release with a straight pull on the plug body, never a tug on the cable. Route the run without sharp bends, keep it clear of door hinges and chair castors, and avoid coiling excess length tightly against power cables. When a picture fails to appear, the checks are the unglamorous ones: the correct input selected on the display, both plugs fully seated, and the cable tested in a shorter, known path to isolate the fault. A passive cable either passes the signal its source and display negotiate, or it does not; it adds nothing and converts nothing.

Where it earns its place

Home cinema runs from receiver to projector, living-room consoles reaching a wall-mounted screen, boardroom tables feeding a presentation display, and digital signage players mounted away from their panels all ask for the same thing: one dependable, full-length HDMI run from a manufacturer that builds cables to the standard. The black finish and nickel-plated connectors keep the installation looking deliberate once it is in place.

Five metres of standard HDMI, in black with nickel-plated connectors: the straightforward answer when the screen and the source refuse to sit next to each other, and a single clean run is worth more than a drawer full of short cables joined together in hope.
