Mx 2749 Hdmi To Mini Hdmi

The MX 2749 is an HDMI to Mini HDMI adapter that bridges the two connector sizes found across cameras, tablets, displays and projectors. The listing describes a compact adapter with gold-plated connectors that delivers uncompressed digital HD audio and video between a Mini HDMI device and a standard HDMI display. Mini HDMI — the Type C connector — appears on many camcorders, DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and compact tablets, while televisions, monitors and projectors almost universally take the full-size Type A HDMI plug. This adapter closes that gap.

Key features

• HDMI to Mini HDMI adaptation between Type A and Type C connectors
• Gold-plated connectors as listed, for reliable, corrosion-resistant contact
• Carries uncompressed digital HD video and audio in one connection
• Compact adapter form — no extra cable length to manage
• Passive plug-and-play connection, no power or drivers
• Suits cameras, camcorders and tablets with Mini HDMI output

What the adapter does

HDMI and Mini HDMI carry the same digital signal; only the physical plug differs. A passive adapter like the MX 2749 simply re-presents the contacts in the other size, so the resolution, refresh and audio behaviour of the connection are set by the source device, the display and any cable in the chain — not by the adapter adding or removing capability. That makes it the right fix when a camera’s Mini HDMI output needs to reach a field monitor, a television for reviewing footage and photos, or a projector for a presentation, using the standard HDMI cable you already own. Check the port on your device before ordering: Mini HDMI is smaller than standard HDMI but larger than Micro HDMI, and the three sizes are not interchangeable without the matching adapter.

Use and handling

Seat the adapter fully at both ends and support the connection — an adapter adds a short rigid extension to the port, so avoid letting a heavy cable hang from it or lever against it in a bag. Connect with the display input selected to the correct HDMI port, and if no picture appears, reseat both ends and confirm the camera or tablet is set to output over HDMI, since some devices need their playback or live-view mode active before the external display lights up. For tethered shooting and field monitoring, strain-relieve the cable run so movement at the desk does not work the adapter in the socket.

Who it is for

Photographers and videographers reviewing work on a bigger screen, presenters driving a projector from a Mini HDMI tablet, and anyone with a camcorder archive to play back on a modern television will find this the simplest route between the two connector sizes. The MX 2749 keeps the standard HDMI cables you already own useful with Mini HDMI devices — one small adapter instead of a second set of leads.
