Apple EarPods USB-C MYQY3ZM/A

Apple EarPods USB-C MYQY3ZM/A

The Apple EarPods (USB-C), model MYQY3ZM/A, bring Apple’s long-running EarPods design to the USB-C generation of devices. They plug directly into the USB-C port of recent iPhones, iPads and Macs, carrying audio digitally with no adapter, no battery and no pairing. The earpiece geometry is the familiar EarPods shape, defined by the geometry of the ear rather than a circular housing, so they rest comfortably in the ear for long stretches of music, video and calls. The speakers inside are engineered to maximise sound output and minimise sound loss, giving the clear midrange and deeper bass tones the design is known for. A built-in remote and microphone on the cord control volume, playback and calls. For owners of USB-C Apple devices who want a simple, genuine wired option, this is the matching Apple earphone.

The EarPods shape, carried forward

EarPods earned their following on fit. Traditional earbuds are circular, but ears are not, so Apple shaped this housing from extensive ear scanning to sit naturally in the ear’s contours. The open-fit design rests in the outer ear without silicone tips sealing the canal, which many listeners find more comfortable over hours and which leaves a degree of awareness of the room and street around you. It also means one size genuinely fits most people, with nothing to size, swap or lose. The USB-C version keeps this proven housing and driver approach unchanged in character: the same light, unobtrusive earpieces, now terminated in the connector that current Apple devices use. If you liked the EarPods that once came in iPhone boxes, these feel immediately familiar.

Digital audio over USB-C

A USB-C audio connection carries the signal digitally from the device, and the EarPods handle it natively, with no dongle DAC required. Apple’s tuning emphasises the frequencies that matter most day to day: intelligible voices for calls and podcasts, clean midrange for vocals, and bass with more depth than the size suggests. Wired delivery brings practical advantages that wireless cannot match at any price: zero latency for video and gaming, no compression artefacts from a Bluetooth codec, and identical performance on every use because there is no battery draining or ageing. The EarPods draw their tiny power requirement from the host device, so they are ready the moment they are plugged in, on a phone, a tablet or a laptop.

Remote, microphone and call quality

The inline remote handles the daily controls: volume up and down, play and pause, track skipping, and answering or ending calls with a press, all without waking the phone. The built-in microphone sits on the cord near the face and is tuned for speech, making the EarPods a solid choice for phone calls, video meetings and online classes, where a clear voice matters more than cinematic sound. There is no connection to drop mid-call, no earbud battery to die before a meeting, and no pairing dance when you move between your phone and your laptop. Sweat and water protection in the design suits commuting, walking and light workouts.

Compatibility and choosing the right EarPods

These EarPods suit devices with a USB-C port and USB-C audio support, including iPhone 15 and later generations, iPads with USB-C, and Mac computers, as well as many other USB-C phones, tablets and laptops. They are one of three EarPods variants, and the connector is the whole difference: choose Lightning EarPods for older iPhones, these USB-C EarPods for current devices, rather than relying on adapters. Pick model MYQY3ZM/A if you want Apple’s own wired earphones for a USB-C device: genuine Apple build in white, a dependable spare or primary set for calls and media, and a design that asks nothing of you beyond plugging it in.
