boAt Airdopes 121V2 Active Black True Wireless Earbuds

boAt Airdopes 121V2 Active Black TWS Earbuds

The boAt Airdopes 121V2 is a compact pair of true wireless earbuds in Active Black, built around 8mm drivers and Bluetooth 5.0 with a small charging case. Manufacturer specifications give up to 3.5 hours of playback from the earbuds and up to 14 hours in total with the case, Insta Wake N Pair for quick connection, multifunction button controls and a battery indicator on the case. It is an earlier, simpler Airdopes model, made for everyday listening and calls without extra features getting in the way.

Key features

• 8mm dynamic drivers
• Bluetooth 5.0 with Insta Wake N Pair
• Up to 14 hours total playback with the case
• Up to 3.5 hours of playback per earbud charge
• Multifunction button controls and voice assistant access
• Case battery indicator, in Active Black finish

Sound and everyday listening

The 8mm drivers are tuned for the casual listening this model is aimed at: music, podcasts, videos and calls through the day. The rated frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz. As with any in-ear earbud, the ear tip seal drives the result, so fit the tips that sit securely and seal well. A proper seal gives fuller sound at lower volume, which is also kinder to the battery on longer listening sessions.

Battery, split properly

The 14 hour figure is the combined total, not a single earbud session. Each charge of the earbuds gives up to 3.5 hours of playback, and the 380mAh charging case adds about 10.5 hours more across its recharges, with each earbud holding 40mAh. That pattern suits a day built around shorter listening stretches with the buds returned to the case in between. The case carries a battery indicator so you can see its remaining charge at a glance, and a full charge of the system takes about 2 hours. Published times depend on volume and use, so treat them as manufacturer references rather than guarantees.

Pairing and controls

Insta Wake N Pair means the earbuds power on and connect to the last paired device when taken out of the case, after the first manual pairing. The multifunction button on each earbud handles playback, calls and voice assistant access, so the phone can stay in a pocket for routine control. Bluetooth 5.0 gives a rated working range of about 10 metres in open conditions. Stereo calling is supported, so calls come through both earbuds rather than one.

Fit, care and honest limits

The 121V2 is a lightweight design, about 4 grams per earbud in the manufacturer’s material, with additional ear tips in the box for fit. The model documentation for this version does not carry a formal IP water resistance rating, so treat it as an indoor and everyday carry product rather than a workout earbud rated for heavy sweat or rain. Keep the case contacts clean and dry, store the buds seated correctly, and charge the case before long trips so both parts of the system start full.

In Active Black, the Airdopes 121V2 is a straightforward first or spare set of true wireless earbuds: compact, simple to pair, and sized for daily music and calls.
