Noise cancellation and awareness

Quiet Mode delivers Bose’s strongest in-ear noise cancelling, using microphones inside and outside the earbuds to sense surrounding sound and generate an opposing cancellation signal almost instantly. Aware Mode lets the outside world back in, and ActiveSense within it listens for sudden loud sounds – a passing vehicle, a blender, a dropped pan – and applies just enough cancellation for just long enough, then eases off again. In this generation the change is deliberately gradual, so levels do not jump noticeably.

Sound, calls and fit

CustomTune runs each time you put the earbuds in, playing a calibration tone and measuring how your ear canal shapes the sound, then adjusting playback to suit. On calls, SpeechClarity and the noise-rejecting microphone system filter wind and background chatter so your voice stays forward. Fit decides how well all of this works: the supplied Fit Kit gives three pairs of eartips and three pairs of stability bands, and the Bose app includes a seal test to confirm the fit.

Battery, charging and controls

A full charge gives up to 6 hours of listening, reduced to around 4 hours with Immersive Audio switched on, and the case stores up to three further full charges. The earbuds take about 2 hours to recharge, and a 20-minute quick charge returns up to 2 hours of playback. The case charges over USB-C or on a compatible wireless charging pad. Touch controls handle playback, volume swipes and mode changes, and can be disabled in the Bose app.
