Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen (White Smoke)

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen (White Smoke)

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen (White Smoke) bring Bose’s flagship earbud technology to a clean, light finish. Underneath the White Smoke colourway this is the same second-generation model as the Black listing: world-class adjustable noise cancelling calibrated to your ears, Bose Immersive Audio for spatial listening, a wireless charging case and improved call quality with AI-based background noise suppression. It suits listeners who want the quietest earbuds Bose makes, in a finish that pairs naturally with light-coloured phones, laptops and cases.

The defining technology is CustomTune. Each time the earbuds go in, they play a brief measurement tone and analyse how your ear canal responds, then adapt both the sound signature and the noise cancelling to that measurement. Two people wearing the same model therefore hear slightly different, individually corrected results. Combined with the soft eartip and stability band fit, that calibration keeps bass full and cancelling consistent even as the earbuds settle during a long flight or a full day at a desk.

Key features

• CustomTune noise cancelling: Adjustable active noise cancelling measured and adapted to your ears on every wear, with ActiveSense to smooth sudden loud sounds in Aware Mode.
• Bose Immersive Audio: Spatial processing that moves sound out of your head and in front of you, with Still and Motion settings for sitting still or walking.
• Cinema Mode: Spatialises video audio and balances dialogue against background sound and effects, so films and series sound bigger without losing speech clarity.
• Up to 6 hours listening: Up to 6 hours per charge in Quiet or Aware Mode and up to 4 hours with Immersive Audio, with the case adding up to three further full charges.
• Wireless charging case: Charge the case by USB-C cable or on a wireless charging pad; a 20-minute top-up of the earbuds returns about 2 hours of playback.
• AI-assisted call quality: The built-in microphone system uses noise rejection and AI-based background suppression to keep your voice forward in wind and busy spaces.
• Secure nine-way fit: Three eartip sizes and three stability band sizes make nine combinations, and the Bose app includes a seal test to confirm the fit.
• Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint: Stay connected to two devices at once, with SBC and AAC for general use and aptX Adaptive on Snapdragon Sound phones.

Modes that match the moment

Quiet Mode is the full-strength setting for cabins, trains and open-plan offices, removing the steady drone and much of the chatter around you. Aware Mode is for streets, stations and conversations, passing sound through naturally while ActiveSense keeps sudden peaks under control. Immersion Mode pairs maximum cancelling with Immersive Audio for listening sessions where the room should disappear entirely. The Bose app adds custom modes, an adjustable equaliser and control over the level of cancelling in fine steps, so the earbuds can be tuned once and then simply used.

Comfort, durability and calls

Bose’s fit approach avoids deep insertion: the eartip seals at the canal entrance and the stability band braces softly against the ear, spreading contact so the earbuds stay put without ache over hours. An IPX4 rating protects the earbuds against sweat and splashes for training sessions and rainy commutes. Calls are handled by the microphone system in each earbud, and single-earbud use is supported when you want one ear open. This second generation specifically improves voice pickup, using AI-based suppression to strip out background noise before it reaches the person you are talking to.

Power for the week

Between the earbuds and the case, total listening reaches around 24 hours, enough for several days of commuting between charges of the case itself. The case reports its battery level in the Bose app, charges over USB-C or wirelessly, and preserves the earbuds’ charge with automatic on and off sensing. White Smoke keeps the whole set looking fresh, and because the finish is light, pocket scuffs and dust show far less on the case than they do on gloss black.

Choose the White Smoke version if the flagship Bose experience appeals but the standard black does not: identical CustomTune quiet, Immersive Audio and battery performance, presented in the range’s lightest, most understated finish.
