Edifier X3S True Wireless Earbuds Black

The Edifier X3S in black is a true wireless earbud built on a Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset, and that choice shapes everything it does well: a stable Bluetooth 5.2 connection, aptX audio decoding for cleaner sound from compatible phones, cVc 8.0 noise reduction for calls, and efficient power use that returns up to eight hours of listening per charge and twenty-eight hours in total with the case. Add an IP55 rating against dust and water, a low-latency game mode, full touch controls including volume, and a compact case, and the X3S covers the daily brief of commuting, working, training and unwinding with unusual completeness for its class. This listing is the black finish.

Key features

• Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset with Bluetooth 5.2 and TrueWireless Mirroring
• aptX and SBC audio decoding for detailed, low-compression playback
• Up to 8 hours per charge and 28 hours total with the charging case
• IP55 dust and water resistance for workouts and wet weather
• Qualcomm cVc 8.0 noise reduction for clearer calls
• Low-latency game mode and touch controls including volume adjustment

Sound and aptX decoding

Each earbud uses a 6 mm dynamic driver working across the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range, with 94 dB sensitivity and a 16 ohm impedance that phones and laptops drive easily. The headline is the decoding: with aptX supported on the source device, audio travels at up to 352 kbps, preserving more of the recording than the standard SBC path alone, which you hear as cleaner treble, better separation and less of the haze that budget wireless audio can add. Edifier’s tuning keeps the presentation balanced and engaging rather than bass-heavy, so acoustic tracks, classical recordings and podcasts hold together as convincingly as pop and electronic playlists. Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring also keeps the stereo image stable by managing which earbud leads the connection.

Calls and connectivity

For calls, cVc 8.0 works on the microphone signal to suppress surrounding noise and keep speech intelligible, which matters on station platforms, in traffic and in open-plan offices. Bluetooth 5.2 with A2DP, AVRCP and HFP profiles pairs the X3S with Android phones, iPhones, tablets and computers over a range of about ten metres, and the connection holds up well in the crowded wireless environments of trains and airports. Either earbud can be used on its own for calls or situational listening, and the touch surface covers play and pause, track skipping, call handling, volume in both directions and voice assistant access, so the phone can stay in a pocket for most tasks.

Fit, build and IP55 protection

The X3S uses a compact in-ear shape that sits deep enough to seal well without bulk, and multiple eartip sizes are included to get that seal right; each earbud weighs only about 3.9 g, so long sessions stay comfortable. IP55 is a stronger rating than the IPX4 found on many rivals: the earbuds are protected against dust ingress and against low-pressure water jets from any direction, on top of the usual sweat and splash resistance. Runs in the rain, dusty trails and hard gym sessions are all within its working envelope, though like any earbud it should be dried before returning to the case and is not made for swimming.

Battery, game mode and charging

The earbuds carry 50 mAh batteries and play for up to eight hours per charge; the case holds 350 mAh and adds up to twenty further hours, for twenty-eight hours in total. Charging is over USB Type-C and takes about two hours for the case. A triple tap switches on the dedicated game mode, which lowers latency and tightens the link between on-screen action and sound, useful for mobile gaming and video where lip-sync and footsteps matter. Between the long battery, the efficient chipset and the pocketable 62 g total weight, the X3S is easy to carry as an everyday default rather than a special-occasion gadget.

What is in the box

The package includes the X3S earbuds, the charging case, a USB Type-C charging cable, spare eartips and the user manual. Charge the case, fit the tips that seal best, pair once, and the earbuds are ready for daily service.

Many earbuds in this segment ask you to choose between sound quality, battery life and weather protection. The X3S declines the choice: Qualcomm hardware, aptX decoding, twenty-eight hours of listening and IP55 sealing arrive together, in a discreet black finish that suits every setting from the gym to the office.
