Audio-technica ATH-M20X Over-ear Professional Studio Monitor Headphones

Audio-technica ATH-M20X Over-ear Professional Studio Monitor Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-M20X is the entry-level model in Audio-Technica's renowned M-Series studio monitor headphone range – designed to bring professional monitoring accuracy to those beginning their audio journey. Whether you're recording your first vocal tracks, learning to mix, or simply seeking a reliable, accurate headphone for critical listening, the ATH-M20X provides genuine studio monitor performance at an exceptionally accessible price point. Audio-Technica's M-Series headphones are among the most respected studio monitoring tools in the world, with the flagship ATH-M50X found in studios from Mumbai to New York. The ATH-M20X shares the M-Series DNA – closed-back circumaural design, accurate frequency response, and professional-grade construction – in a more affordable package without sacrificing the sonic integrity that the range is known for. 40mm Drivers with Accurate Response

The ATH-M20X uses 40mm drivers tuned for flat, accurate frequency response – the key characteristic of any professional monitoring tool. Unlike consumer headphones, which typically apply bass and treble enhancement for an exciting listening experience, the M20X aims for honesty: you hear what's actually in the recording, not what has been artificially coloured. This neutrality makes it far more useful for recording and mixing work than any consumer headphone at a similar price.

Closed-Back Isolation

The closed-back earcup design provides passive isolation from external noise – important both for concentrating on audio work and for recording in environments where headphone bleed into microphones must be minimised. The circumaural (over-ear) fit distributes earcup pressure evenly around the ear, improving comfort during extended sessions.

Ideal First Studio Headphones

For students, home studio owners, and audio enthusiasts entering the world of accurate monitoring, the ATH-M20X represents an ideal starting point. Its sound signature is honest enough to teach you to mix well, yet forgiving enough not to fatigue the listener quickly. It is also rugged enough for daily use in classroom, studio, and practice room environments.
