Sennheiser CX 150BT Wireless Neckband (Black)

Sennheiser CX 150BT Wireless Neckband (Black)

The Sennheiser CX 150BT is a Bluetooth in-ear headphone in the neckband style, finished here in black, for listeners who want the security of a cable between the earpieces without a cable running to the phone. The two earbuds are joined by a slim neckband cable that rests around the collar, so the earphones stay with you when you take them out between stops, calls or tasks, and there is no separate charging case to keep track of. Inside, 9.7 mm dynamic drivers deliver the balanced, full-bodied tuning this CX series is known for, in a design that weighs approximately 12 grams and effectively disappears during a working day.

Everyday wireless listening

Bluetooth 5.0 gives the CX 150BT a fast, stable link to phones, tablets and computers, and support for the SBC and AAC codecs covers the standard audio formats used by Android and Apple devices. Multi-connection pairing is the feature many owners use most: the earphones can stay connected to two devices at once, for example a laptop for video calls and a phone for music and incoming calls, and switch between them without a fresh pairing routine each time. That makes the CX 150BT a practical single earphone for a desk, a commute and everything in between. The in-ear fit, once the right tip size is chosen from the four supplied sizes, seals well enough to provide useful passive isolation from street and office noise, which also means comfortable listening at lower volumes.

Calls, controls and battery

A three-button remote on the neckband cable handles volume, play and pause, track changes and call answering, and the built-in microphone carries voice calls and voice commands without the phone leaving a pocket or bag. Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours, enough for a full day of mixed listening and calls, and charging is through USB-C, the same connector used by most current phones and laptops, with a full charge taking approximately 1.5 hours. Impedance of 28 ohms and total harmonic distortion below 0.5 percent complete a specification aimed at clean, easy listening from any phone rather than at specialist equipment. There is no active noise cancellation on this model; the isolation comes from the in-ear seal, which has the advantage of drawing no extra power.

Fit and who it suits

The neckband format suits people who have decided against separate true wireless buds: nothing small and loose to drop on a platform or leave in a cafe, nothing to put down and forget. Commuters, office workers taking calls through the day, students and anyone who moves between a phone and a computer will get the most from the CX 150BT. Choosing ear tips carefully matters more than any other setup step, since the seal decides both comfort over long sessions and how much bass the drivers can deliver. Try more than one size; the correct pair feels secure without pressure and holds its seal when you turn your head.

The CX 150BT in black is a straightforward, well-judged neckband earphone: proven Sennheiser tuning, two-device Bluetooth connection, a full day of battery life and controls that cover music and calls without reaching for the phone.
