Electro-Voice Evolve 30M Portable Array PA System (Black)

Electro-Voice Evolve 30M – The Column PA With a Mixer Built In, black

The Evolve 30M is Electro-Voice’s portable column-array PA system in a black finish: a 10-inch subwoofer base, a column of six 2.8-inch drivers, and a built-in eight-channel digital mixer with effects, all delivering up to 1,000 watts of Class-D power and a maximum SPL of 123 dB. It sets up in minutes and covers a room the way only an array can.

Column systems have taken over small and medium live sound because their vertical dispersion is narrow and their horizontal coverage wide – 120 degrees here – so the front row is not blasted while the back row strains. The 30M adds EV’s QuickSmart DSP and app control, letting the operator tune and monitor the system from the audience.

Even coverage is the whole point

A conventional speaker on a stand throws a cone of sound that is loud up close and quiet at distance. A column array’s stacked drivers sum into a wavefront that carries level much more evenly from front to back, while the narrow vertical pattern keeps sound off the ceiling and floor, where it would only become echo. For weddings, conferences, ceremonies and acoustic gigs – speech intelligibility and comfortable music at every seat – that behaviour is worth more than raw power.

A mixer in the base

The 30M’s built-in mixer takes microphones, instruments and playback sources directly, with EQ, effects and presets per input, so many gigs need no external desk at all. Bluetooth streaming covers background music and backing tracks, and the QuickSmart Mobile app puts the mix in the operator’s hand from anywhere in the room. Solo performers and presenters carry one system instead of a PA, a mixer and a cable trunk.

Who the Evolve 30M suits

Choose the Evolve 30M for solo and duo performers, DJs running ceremonies and cocktail sets, corporate presenters and houses of worship serving audiences up to a few hundred. The black version suits working bands, DJs and rental fleets where the classic black finish hides road wear. If your events are larger or outdoors at festival scale, step up to the Evolve 50M or a conventional rig.

Transport and set-up

The Evolve 30M breaks down into its subwoofer base and column sections, which pack into optional carry bags for one-person load-in. On site, the column clicks onto the base, power and sources connect, and the system is ready in minutes – the working definition of a grab-and-go rig. The black finish is the working musician’s default: it hides the scuffs of weekly load-ins and disappears against stage drapes and dark venue walls.
