AKG WMS420 Presenter Set Wireless Lavalier System

AKG WMS420 Presenter Set Wireless Lavalier System

The AKG WMS420 Presenter Set is a complete UHF wireless system for speech: a bodypack transmitter with a discreet lavalier microphone, a stationary receiver and everything needed to put a presenter, lecturer, officiant or trainer on air without a cable. It is built for the environments where wireless earns its keep — classrooms, conference rooms, houses of worship and event stages where the speaker needs both hands free and the freedom to move.

Key features

• Complete presenter set: SR420 receiver, PT420 bodypack and C417 L lavalier microphone
• UHF operation with selectable frequencies for clear, interference-managed reception
• Up to 8 hours of operation from a single AA battery
• Detachable antennas for flexible receiver placement
• Balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch outputs on the receiver
• Charging contacts on the bodypack for optional rechargeable use
• RF and audio level indicators with squelch control

The presenter workflow

The C417 L is an omnidirectional lavalier that clips to a lapel or tie and stays consistent as the speaker turns their head — the right pattern choice for speech, where a directional mic would fade with every glance at the audience. The PT420 bodypack is small enough to disappear into a pocket or clip to a belt, with a mute switch placed for quick, silent control.

Reliability in shared RF spaces

Selectable frequencies let you move channels when the venue’s RF environment is busy, and multiple WMS420 systems can run together for panels and multi-speaker events (exact counts depend on the frequency band). The SR420 receiver’s front-panel indicators show RF strength and audio level at a glance, and detachable antennas let installers position them for the cleanest pickup.

Economical to run

Eight hours from one AA cell means a full day of teaching or conferencing per battery, and the bodypack’s charging contacts work with AKG’s optional charging station if you prefer rechargeables. For institutions running daily sessions, that running-cost detail matters as much as the sound.

Running several systems

Events rarely stop at one speaker. The WMS420 family is designed so multiple systems can operate together in the same space — a panel of presenters, a teacher and a student mic, an officiant and a reader — with each receiver on its own frequency from the selectable plan (the practical count depends on the band and local conditions). Institutions standardise on it for a practical reason: every presenter already knows how it works, batteries are the same AA cells everywhere, and the receiver’s channel and level readouts let a caretaker confirm in seconds that the system is live before the audience arrives.

Choose the WMS420 Presenter Set when speech is the job: a complete, proven lavalier system that sets up in minutes and stays dependable through long days of presentations.
