IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone
The IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone is a handheld vocal microphone that plugs straight into a phone, tablet or computer, turning a mobile device into a recording studio, a podcast rig or a live vocal setup. Its condenser-electret cardioid capsule captures clear, focused vocals while rejecting sound from the sides and rear.
A three-level gain switch adapts the mic to quiet singing, loud vocals and instruments, and the built-in windscreen tames plosives and breath noise. Dual mini-jack connections give a device output plus a headphone monitoring output, so performers can hear themselves while they record.
Why Choose IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone?
The IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone stands out because it feels and handles like a real stage microphone, not a phone accessory. The rugged metal housing survives gig bags and rehearsal rooms, the mic-stand mount frees the hands, and the free VocaLive and iRig Recorder apps give singers and podcasters a complete recording setup from day one.
Three-level gain switch: Gain settings for quiet, normal and loud sources, up to 120 dB maximum sound pressure level.
Dual mini-jack outputs: A 3.5 mm device output plus a headphone monitoring output.
Built-in windscreen: An integrated windscreen reduces plosives and breath noise.
Rugged metal housing: A durable metal body with handheld or mic-stand mounting.
Free apps included: VocaLive FREE and iRig Recorder FREE apps for singing and recording.
Best Suited For
The IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone suits singers, podcasters, voice-over artists, reporters and teachers who record on a phone, tablet or computer. It is ideal for mobile podcasting, vocal practice, interviews and live streaming where a handheld mic feels natural.
Setup and Connection Guide
Setting up the IK Multimedia iRig Mic Handheld Condenser Microphone means connecting the 3.5 mm device plug to the phone, tablet or computer, plugging headphones into the monitoring output, and opening a recording app such as VocaLive or iRig Recorder. Set the gain switch to match the source volume, mount the mic on a stand with the included clamp if desired, and note that modern iPhones need Apple’s Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter.
Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the iRig Mic HD?
This is the original analog iRig Mic, which connects over 3.5 mm; the HD and HD 2 models are digital USB models at a much higher price.
