Novation LAUNCHKEY 49 MK4 WHITE USB MIDI Keyboard Controller
The Novation LAUNCHKEY 49 MK4 WHITE USB MIDI Keyboard Controller is the white-finish version of Novation’s fourth-generation 49-key DAW controller, pairing a premium semi-weighted, waterfall-style keybed with deep control of Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, Reason, FL Studio and other major DAWs. Sixteen FSR drum pads with polyphonic aftertouch, nine faders, eight endless encoders and a crisp OLED display put playing, mixing and plug-in control on one surface, while Scale and Chord modes, a chord detector and a generative arpeggiator help turn ideas into finished parts. The modern white finish, with grey keys and controls, suits bright studios and stage setups where the standard black finish is not wanted.
Why Choose Novation LAUNCHKEY 49 MK4 WHITE USB MIDI Keyboard Controller?
The Launchkey 49 MK4 White is chosen because the MK4 generation is a substantial step beyond the MK3: the keybed is semi-weighted and piano-style rather than synth-action, the pads use FSR technology with polyphonic aftertouch, and the OLED display shows chord names, scales and parameter values in plain language instead of cryptic abbreviations. Split and Layer zones let the keyboard cover bass and lead at once, NKS support gives direct control of a large library of compatible instruments and effects, and custom modes store personal mappings in the unit. For a buyer who specifically wants the white finish, this is the exact variant to order, distinct from the black 49 MK4.
Key Features
49 semi-weighted keys: a waterfall-style piano keybed for expressive, dynamic playing.
16 FSR pads with polyphonic aftertouch: velocity-sensitive RGB pads for drums, instruments and clip launching with per-note expression.
Nine faders and eight encoders: simultaneous mixer and plug-in control without paging through menus.
128 x 64 OLED display: clear feedback on chords, scales and parameters as you play.
Scale, Chord and arpeggiator tools: a 30-scale Scale Mode, Chord Map, Fixed and User Chord modes, and a generative arpeggiator with step editor.
Split and Layer zones: two keyboard zones or layered MIDI channels across all keys.
Best Suited For
The Launchkey 49 MK4 White suits producers and performers who want a premium-feeling 49-key controller in a white finish, Ableton Live and Logic Pro users who rely on deep DAW scripts, and studio owners building a bright, modern setup. It also suits players who use NKS instruments and want hardware control that follows the selected plug-in, and keyboardists who split the keyboard for bass and lead parts.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect the Launchkey 49 MK4 White to your computer over USB-C; it is bus powered, so no separate power supply is needed for computer use. Select the custom DAW script for Ableton Live 11 or later, Logic, Cubase, Reason, FL Studio or Ardour, or use HUI compatibility with other DAWs. For hardware, connect the five-pin MIDI output to your synth or module, and connect a sustain pedal to the quarter-inch jack socket. Use the OLED display to confirm the active scale, chord and mode, and use Novation Components to create custom pad, encoder and fader mappings stored in the unit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as the black Launchkey 49 MK4?
In features it matches the black 49 MK4, but the finish is different: this listing is specifically the white finish, with a white body and grey keys and controls, and it should not be substituted for the black version.
What is new in the MK4 over the MK3?
The MK4 adds a semi-weighted waterfall keybed, FSR pads with polyphonic aftertouch, an OLED display with chord detection, Split and Layer zones, and NKS support, replacing the MK3 character screen and synth-action keybed.
What software is included?
