The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 is the flagship of the Oxygen Pro range, offering 61 semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch and assignable zones for players who need five octaves of expressive range. It pairs that keyboard with 16 RGB backlit pads with Note Repeat, 8 assignable knobs and 9 assignable faders, plus an OLED display, Smart Chord and Smart Scale modes, an arpeggiator and auto-mapped DAW control. The result is a controller that handles piano parts, orchestral sketches, beatmaking and full mix sessions without switching hardware. The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 also provides a 5-pin MIDI output for hardware synths and a sustain pedal input, making it a true centrepiece for a professional project studio.
Why Choose M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61?
When a controller is your main instrument, range and feel matter as much as knobs and pads. The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 gives you five octaves for two-handed playing, splits and layered sounds, while its semi-weighted keys with aftertouch respond to subtle playing dynamics that cheaper controllers flatten. The nine faders turn mixing into a physical process, the RGB pads keep beatmaking visible and immediate, and the OLED display keeps parameter editing precise. Auto-mapping removes setup friction, and the bundled Ableton Live Lite, MPC Beats and AIR instruments provide a complete production toolkit. For studios that want one controller to do everything, the M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 is the natural top choice in the range.

Best Suited For
The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 suits keyboard players, composers and producers with a wide studio desk who need five octaves and full production control. It fits scoring, live keys, electronic production and band rehearsal control, and it pairs with both software instruments and hardware synths. Measure your desk before ordering, since it is the widest Oxygen Pro model; if space is tight, the Pro 49 offers the same control set with four octaves.
Setup and Connection Guide
Place the M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 on a wide, stable desk, connect it over USB, and select it in your DAW with the matching preset for auto-mapped controls. Assign faders to mix channels, knobs to synth and effect parameters, and pads to drums and clips, and use the OLED display to confirm values as you edit. Connect a sustain pedal for expressive piano playing and the 5-pin MIDI output to hardware synths, keeping channels matched. Use Smart Chord and Smart Scale for fast harmonic ideas, the arpeggiator for rhythmic textures, and save custom presets for each project or instrument.
