Blackmagic Design Davinci Resolve Mini Panel: Usb Control Panel For Color Correction, Editing, And Styling, Black

Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel – Hands-On Colour Grading, At Speed

Colour grading with a mouse means adjusting one control at a time while looking at a menu. The DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel replaces that with a physical desk of controls built for the Colour Page: three high-resolution weighted trackballs for lift, gamma and gain, twelve primary correction knobs, and an upper deck with two 5-inch LCD screens, eight soft keys and eight soft knobs that adapt to the tool you are using. Your hands learn the layout once, and grading becomes a performance instead of a data-entry exercise.

It is the middle step in Blackmagic’s panel range – everything the Micro Panel offers, plus the screens and upper-deck controls that professional colourists rely on daily – and it includes an activation key for DaVinci Resolve Studio, the full paid version of the software.

Key features

• Three weighted, high-resolution trackballs with surrounding rings for primary corrections
• Twelve dedicated control knobs for primary colour correction
• Two 5-inch LCD screens showing parameters, palettes and tool settings
• Eight soft knobs and eight soft keys that remap to the active grading tool
• Left and right button clusters for nodes, palettes and Colour Page navigation
• Soft knobs double as push-button resets for individual parameters
• Compact desk footprint sized for edit suites and grading rooms
• USB-C connectivity, with DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key included

Why hardware beats a mouse for colour

Speed is only half of it. With three trackballs under both hands you can balance shadows, midtones and highlights simultaneously and watch the image respond as a whole, instead of nudging one slider and then hunting for the next. Adjustments become comparative and instinctive, the way a colourist actually judges a shot – does the balance feel right – rather than numerical. Sessions that took an afternoon of clicking compress into focused passes, and the consistency between shots improves because your hands repeat the same motions.

The upper deck is the difference

The two screens and soft controls are what separate the Mini Panel from entry-level surfaces. The displays label every soft knob and key for the tool in front of you – curves, qualifiers, power windows, the HDR palette – so functions that normally live three menus deep are one press away. Dedicated buttons generate and manage nodes and switch palettes, keeping your eyes on the monitor and the scopes instead of the interface.

Who it is for

The Mini Panel suits editors who grade their own work, freelance colourists building a suite, and production houses standardising on Resolve. It connects over USB-C, sits comfortably beside a keyboard, and pairs with any system running DaVinci Resolve – grading, and equally the editing and finishing work the Studio licence unlocks. If you bill for finished video, the hours it returns on every project make the case on their own.

Grade by feel, at professional speed: the Mini Panel puts the whole Colour Page under your hands and gets the mouse out of the way.
