Epson EB-W06 WXGA 3LCD Projector

Epson EB-W06 WXGA 3LCD Projector

The Epson EB-W06 is a WXGA projector for classrooms and meeting rooms where a bright, dependable image matters more than elaborate features. Its native resolution is 1280 x 800 in a 16:10 aspect ratio, which matches the widescreen output of most modern laptops, so slides, documents and video fill the screen in their intended shape. White light output and colour light output are both rated at 3,700 lumens.

That equal rating is the practical point of Epson 3LCD design. Colour slides, charts and photographs are projected at full brightness rather than appearing muted, and the image remains usable with normal room lighting in place. With a 16,000:1 contrast ratio and a 0.59-inch LCD panel, text stays sharp enough for teaching and presenting, where the audience needs to read content rather than simply watch it.

Everyday image quality

Most classroom and office projection happens in imperfect conditions: blinds half open, lights on for note taking, and viewers spread across the room. The EB-W06 is specified for that reality. Its brightness keeps content legible, while the WXGA panel gives enough pixels for spreadsheets, web pages and lesson material to remain clear. Colour modes include dynamic, presentation, cinema, sRGB and blackboard, allowing the image to be adjusted for the surface and the type of content being shown.

Setup and positioning

The manual optical zoom lens has a focal length of 16.9 to 20.28 mm and an F-number range of 1.49 to 1.72. A 60-inch screen can be produced from roughly 1.68 to 2.02 metres, and the overall range extends from small desktop images to very large 320-inch projection. Keystone correction works vertically and horizontally up to 30 degrees, and a horizontal slide control makes it quick to correct an image when the projector sits off to one side. Split-screen display is also supported for showing two sources together.

Connections

Inputs cover the devices most rooms use: one HDMI input for laptops and media players, one D-sub 15-pin computer input, USB Type B, composite video via RCA and stereo audio via RCA connections. A USB Type A connection supports the optional wireless LAN unit, enabling wireless presenting with Epson iProjection where that accessory is fitted. The connection set is deliberately simple, which suits institutions standardising one model across many rooms and presenters with varied equipment.

Size, noise and running costs

The projector measures 302 x 237 x 82 mm and weighs 2.5 kg, so it can be ceiling mounted permanently or carried between rooms as a shared resource. Noise is rated at 37 dB in normal mode and 28 dB in economy mode, the quieter setting being useful in small meeting rooms. Lamp-on power consumption is rated at 327 W. Direct power on, instant off and a high-efficiency air filter support the pattern of frequent, short-notice use typical in schools and offices.

The EB-W06 is a practical WXGA workhorse: bright, colour-accurate, easy to position and economical to run across a long teaching or meeting schedule.
