Sonos Era 100 Ceiling Mount (White)

Sonos Era 100 Ceiling Mount (White)

This white ceiling mount for the Sonos Era 100 is made by Flexson, the specialist Sonos accessories maker, and is designed bespoke for the Era 100 speaker. It hangs a single Era 100 about 30 cm below the ceiling, freeing shelves, counters and wall space entirely while putting the sound overhead — a layout that suits kitchens, bathrooms, corridors, cafés, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as multiroom home systems. The speaker itself is not included; this listing is for the mount in white.

The mount’s base is shaped to fit the Era 100 securely, and its party trick is adjustment: a tilting mechanism angles the speaker down by up to 15 degrees, and the mount swivels up to 80 degrees in total — 40 degrees left and 40 degrees right — so the sound can be aimed at the seating, the counter or the centre of the room rather than straight at the floor. The speaker can also be hung inverted, which keeps its on-speaker controls within reach in lower-ceiling rooms.

Aiming overhead sound

A speaker fixed flat against a ceiling fires most of its energy at the floor directly beneath it. Tilt and swivel change that: angle the Era 100 down 15 degrees toward the listening area and rotate it up to 40 degrees either way, and coverage spreads across the people in the room instead of a single spot. In a kitchen that means aiming toward the worktop and table; in a café, toward the seating rather than the counter queue. Set the angle once during installation and the mount holds it.

Cable management and the inverted option

The mount routes the Era 100’s power cable neatly up to the ceiling, so the installation reads as a clean fitting rather than a speaker with a wire trailing from it — important in commercial spaces and in finished rooms at home. Hanging the speaker inverted is more than a styling choice: the Era 100’s controls sit on the speaker, and inverted mounting at a 30 cm drop can put them within reach in rooms with lower ceilings, while the speaker’s sound is unaffected by the orientation.

Installation and use cases

The mount is precision engineered for the Era 100’s base and is designed to be quick to fit, with a safety cable included for overhead security. Fix it into a suitable ceiling structure — not plasterboard alone — following the supplied instructions, confirm the tilt and swivel are locked, and run power to the ceiling point. A single mount fills a small room; pairs and multiples cover larger and longer spaces evenly, which is why this mount is a favourite for background music in hospitality and retail as well as whole-home audio. In white, it blends with most ceilings and matches a white Era 100 for a near-invisible installation.
