Artis BT101 16W Bluetooth Speaker With RGB Lights

Artis BT101 16W Bluetooth Speaker With RGB Lights

The Artis BT101 is a compact Bluetooth speaker rated by the manufacturer at 16W RMS output, with RGB lighting that adds a visual element to playback. It is sized and priced for personal listening and small gatherings: a bedroom, study desk, hostel room or a table of friends outdoors. Bluetooth streaming is the main route in, and the BT101 backs it up with USB and TF card playback plus an Aux input, so music does not stop when a phone battery dies or a playlist lives on a pen drive. A built-in microphone handles hands-free calls through the speaker, and TWS pairing lets two compatible BT101 units work together as a stereo pair. It covers the features most buyers in this segment actually use, in one portable unit.

Key features

• 16W RMS output as stated by the manufacturer
• RGB lights for a selectable visual effect during playback
• Bluetooth wireless streaming from phones, tablets and laptops
• USB and TF card playback for stored music
• Aux input for wired sources
• Built-in microphone for hands-free calls
• TWS pairing for two-speaker stereo with a second compatible unit
• Compact portable form for rooms and small gatherings

Output and RGB lighting

The headline figure is the manufacturer-stated 16W RMS output, which places the BT101 firmly in the small-room and personal-party category: enough level to fill a bedroom or carry across a terrace table without straining. RMS ratings describe sustained output rather than a brief peak, so judge the speaker by the spaces it is meant for. It will comfortably outperform phone and laptop speakers for music, videos and calls, with a fuller low end and more headroom before distortion. The RGB lighting runs alongside playback and turns the speaker into part of the setting for evening listening, small celebrations and desk setups where a plain black box would disappear. Lighting and output together make the BT101 a social speaker first: it is designed to be seen as well as heard when friends are around.

Playback from almost anything

Bluetooth is the everyday path: pair a phone, tablet or computer once and stream from any app. When wireless is not convenient, the BT101 keeps three wired and local options. USB playback reads music stored on a pen drive, which suits shared spaces where nobody wants to surrender their phone. The TF card slot plays from a microSD-style card loaded with a personal library, turning the speaker into a standalone player for exercise corners, shops or kids’ rooms. The Aux input connects laptops, older phones and any source with a headphone socket. Switching between sources lets one speaker serve a whole household: streaming in the morning, a pen drive of family favourites in the evening, and a laptop for film audio at night.

TWS pairing and hands-free calls

TWS, or True Wireless Stereo, pairing connects two compatible BT101 speakers so they play as left and right channels rather than two copies of the same mono signal. Stereo separation widens the soundstage for films and live recordings and adds total output for larger rooms. Note that TWS describes the pairing function; a second compatible speaker is required to use it, and only one unit is the subject of this listing. The built-in microphone serves a different kind of sharing: incoming calls can be answered through the speaker for hands-free conversation, useful while cooking, working at a desk or joining a group call where several people need to hear and be heard.

Best suited for

Choose the BT101 if your listening is personal and social rather than cinematic: music in a bedroom or study, background playback in a small shop or salon, podcasts and videos at a desk, and portable sound for balconies, terraces and picnics. Its mix of a stated 16W output, RGB lighting, card and USB playback, calling support and TWS expansion covers the checklist most buyers bring to this price band. Place it on a stable surface, keep it dry unless a rating on the supplied unit says otherwise, and select the source mode that matches where your music lives.
