WiiM Amp Pro Streaming Amplifier (Dark Gray)

WiiM Amp Pro Streaming Amplifier (Dark Gray)

The WiiM Amp Pro is a compact streaming amplifier that turns any pair of passive bookshelf or floorstanding speakers into a complete modern music system. It combines a Texas Instruments TPA3255 Class D amplifier, rated at 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a full network streaming platform and an HDMI ARC input for television sound. This listing is for the Dark Gray finish. Post-Filter Feedback (PFFB) keeps the frequency response stable as speaker impedance changes, and an ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC handles digital conversion with a 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio and distortion of -105 dB, so streamed music, television and local files are reproduced cleanly without a separate streamer, DAC or receiver taking up shelf space.

Key Features

• 60 W per channel into 8 ohms, 120 W per channel into 4 ohms (TI TPA3255, PFFB)
• ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC, 120 dB SNR, hi-res playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz
• Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and two-way Bluetooth 5.3
• Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA and Roon Ready streaming
• HDMI ARC for TV sound, plus optical, RCA line-in, USB-A and Ethernet
• RoomFit room correction and subwoofer output with bass management

Streaming and multiroom

The Amp Pro streams over Wi-Fi 6E or wired Ethernet and works with the services and protocols most households already use: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast, Alexa Cast and DLNA, with Roon Ready playback for a Roon-based library. It groups with other WiiM and LinkPlay devices, Google Home speakers and Amazon Echo devices for synchronised multiroom audio, all set up and controlled from the WiiM Home app. One honest limitation to plan around: unlike the standard WiiM Amp, the Amp Pro does not support Apple AirPlay, so iPhone and Mac users should route audio through Google Cast, Bluetooth or a wired input instead.

Television, sources and subwoofer integration

HDMI ARC connects the Amp Pro to a television so films, sport and games play through the main speakers with volume following the TV remote, including Dolby Digital decoding. An optical input covers older televisions and disc players, the RCA line-in takes a turntable with its own phono stage or a CD player, and the USB-A port plays music files from a storage drive. A dedicated subwoofer output with adjustable crossover and a high-pass filter for the main speakers lets a powered subwoofer take over the lowest octaves, which improves clarity from smaller bookshelf speakers.

Room correction and everyday control

RoomFit room correction measures the listening space using a phone microphone and adjusts the output for the speakers and their placement, and a parametric and graphic EQ, balance and preset controls in the WiiM Home app allow further tuning. The included voice remote handles volume, playback and four favourite presets without opening the app, and the Amp Pro also responds to Alexa and Google Assistant through linked smart speakers. The aluminium Dark Gray enclosure is 217 mm wide, so it fits on a shelf, sideboard or desktop where a full-size receiver would not.

For a two-channel system built around passive speakers, the WiiM Amp Pro covers amplification, streaming, television sound and room tuning in a single small box, with the measured performance to suit speakers well beyond its compact size.
