Automatic playback, explained

Full automation removes the two moments that cause most beginner anxiety: dropping the stylus into the groove and lifting it at the end of a side. On the LP60X the Start button begins playback and the Stop button ends it, with the mechanism handling tonearm movement in both directions. A cueing control allows the arm to be raised and lowered manually when a particular track is wanted. It should be placed on a level surface with enough clearance for the hinged cover to open fully, and away from direct speaker vibration, which can feed back into playback at higher volumes. Power is supplied by the external AC adapter, rated at 12 V, 2 A on the output side, a design that keeps mains conversion away from the sensitive phono signal chain inside the chassis. Overall power requirement is 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, making the deck practical for Indian homes without a step-down transformer when supplied with the correct regional adapter.
