Why Wall-Mount a Five

The Five is Sonos’s largest speaker and it occupies real furniture space. On a wall it sits at ear height when seated, which is where a speaker of this capability performs best, and it is out of reach of knocks, spills and small hands. Mounting also fixes the speaker’s position, so a stereo pair stays symmetrical and the soundstage the pair creates is repeatable every day, rather than depending on where the speakers were last moved to. For rooms where the Five is the main music system, that consistency is the main gain. Tilt and Swivel Adjustment

Swivel adjustment of up to 30 degrees left or right, 60 degrees in total, lets a single Five be turned toward a seating position, a kitchen worktop or a desk, and lets a stereo pair be toed in toward the listener. It does not fit the first-generation Play:5, which is a different, vertically oriented design, and it is not a universal bracket for other speakers.
