Denon Amplifier AVR-2800H

Denon AVR-X2800H 7.2 Channel 8K AV Receiver – The Centre of a Serious Home Cinema

Every home theatre needs one component that takes in all your sources, decodes every modern format, powers every speaker and sends a clean picture to the screen. The Denon AVR-X2800H is built to be that component. It is a 7.2-channel AV receiver with 95 watts per channel, 8K video switching, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding, Audyssey room correction and HEOS multi-room streaming built in – the specification most medium-sized cinema rooms actually need, without paying for channels you will never use.

Configure it as a traditional 7.2 system, or as 5.2.2 with two height speakers for Atmos. Either way, the same receiver also streams music around the house, which makes it the hub for film nights and everyday listening alike.

Key features

• 7.2 channels, 95 W per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven)
• Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X
• 6 HDMI inputs and 2 outputs, with 3 inputs supporting 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz
• HDMI eARC, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, ALLM and Variable Refresh Rate for gaming
• Audyssey MultEQ XT room calibration with supplied microphone
• HEOS Built-in, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi streaming
• Phono (MM) input for a turntable, plus analogue, optical and coaxial inputs
• Dual subwoofer outputs and Zone 2 capability via assignable amplifiers

Immersive audio, with or without height speakers

With ceiling or up-firing speakers installed, the X2800H decodes true object-based Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, placing effects in three-dimensional space rather than in fixed channels. Without height speakers, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X simulate that sense of overhead space from a conventional layout, so a 5.1 or 7.1 system still gains scale. It is a sensible upgrade path: start simple, add height speakers later, and the receiver is already ready.

Video and gaming, properly handled

Three of the HDMI inputs pass 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz signals, with 8K upscaling for lower-resolution sources. HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dynamic HDR are all supported, and gamers get Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport to keep lag and tearing down with current consoles and PCs. eARC on the output returns lossless audio such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio from the television over a single cable.

Music and everyday use

HEOS streams from popular services and from your network in up to 24-bit/192 kHz FLAC, ALAC and WAV, plus DSD, and can share audio with other HEOS speakers around the home. Audyssey MultEQ XT measures your room and corrects the response problems every real living room has, while Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume keep dialogue clear at sensible listening levels. Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri rounds out daily convenience.

For a medium room that needs real Atmos, future-ready video and proper music streaming in one box, the AVR-X2800H is the balanced, long-term choice in Denon’s range.
