Antelope Audio Orion Studio Synergy Core Audio Interface

Antelope Audio Orion Studio Synergy Core Audio Interface – A 12-Preamp Studio Core With Its Own Effects Engine

The Orion Studio Synergy Core is built for studios that record bands, not just voices. Twelve discrete microphone preamps capture a full drum kit, a string section or a live ensemble at once, while Antelope’s Synergy Core platform – a combined DSP and FPGA engine inside the interface – runs studio effects with near-zero latency during tracking, offloading your computer. Thunderbolt 3 and USB connectivity, DB25 line outputs for console and outboard integration, dedicated reamp outputs and Antelope’s Acoustically Focused Clocking make it the centre of a serious recording room rather than an accessory to one.

Key features

• 12 discrete microphone preamps for full-band tracking
• Synergy Core DSP + FPGA processing for low-latency onboard effects
• Thunderbolt 3 and USB 2.0 computer connections
• DB25 analogue line outputs for outboard and console workflows
• Two dedicated reamp outputs for guitar amplifier workflows
• Four instrument-capable inputs for DI recording
• ADAT, S/PDIF and Word Clock digital connectivity
• 4th-generation Acoustically Focused Clocking for jitter control
• Two headphone outputs and comprehensive monitoring control

Synergy Core changes the tracking workflow

Recording through effects normally means a choice: print plug-ins and fight latency, or track dry and hope. The Synergy Core engine runs Antelope’s modelled compressors, EQs, guitar amps and reverbs on the interface’s own DSP and FPGA chips, so singers hear a finished-sounding mix in their headphones while the DAW records clean, undoable audio – and your computer’s CPU stays available for the session itself. It is the workflow of a big-room console, in one rack unit.

Twelve preamps is a session, not a compromise

Drums alone can consume eight microphones. Twelve discrete preamps mean the kit, the bass DI, the room mics and the vocal all record in one pass, keeping the performance a performance. DB25 line outputs patch into outboard processors and summing mixers, the reamp outputs let you re-record DI guitars through real amplifiers later, and ADAT expansion stands ready when a session outgrows even this.

Clocking is Antelope’s home turf

Antelope built its name on digital clocking, and the Orion Studio’s Acoustically Focused Clocking keeps conversion stable and jitter low – the unglamorous foundation under stereo imaging and transient detail. In a studio asking ‘why does the expensive interface sound better’, the clock and the converters are most of the honest answer.

For project studios stepping up to ensemble recording and professional studios building a mobile rig, the Orion Studio Synergy Core is a complete front end in a single unit.
