Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface

Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface
Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 is a compact two-input/two-output USB line-level audio interface with stereo RCA connections, headphone monitoring and an optical digital output. Why Choose Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222? UCA222 suits a stereo transfer or playback route where the source already supplies the correct line-level signal. Its USB-powered design avoids a separate mains supply for the interface itself, while the connected source and receiving equipment retain their own power requirements. The RCA inputs are not XLR microphone preamps, and the optical S/PDIF connection is an output rather than an extra recording input. For a turntable, establish whether a phono stage is needed before connecting. Check the application’s recording source and monitoring route so a computer return does not feed itself. Key Features – Stereo RCA input: suitable line-level capture. – Stereo RCA output: analogue playback route. – Headphone monitoring: documented local listening connection. – Optical output: supported S/PDIF digital feed. Best Suited For
Recording or playing stereo line-level audio between suitable analogue equipment and a supported computer. A line interface is useful for mixer outputs, players and other appropriate sources. It does not automatically provide the gain, impedance selection or phantom power needed by microphones and direct instrument pickups. Setup and Connection Guide
Connect the source’s appropriate stereo line output to the interface inputs with compatible cables, keeping the source level conservative. Attach the USB connection to the supported computer and select the correct recording and playback device in the application. Monitor through the documented output route and make a short test recording. Check for clipping, channel reversal and unwanted software monitoring loops before a complete transfer. If the source is a turntable with an unconditioned phono output, add the correct phono preamp rather than treating an RCA plug as proof of line-level compatibility. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I record a condenser microphone using only an XLR-to-RCA adapter? No. UCA222 needs an appropriate line-level signal. Use a suitable microphone preamp and required microphone power before the line input, or choose an interface with the necessary microphone inputs. Can a line-level RCA input power a condenser microphone? No. The microphone requires a suitable preamp and compatible power arrangement. RCA line inputs are intended for appropriate line sources; a plug adapter alone does not add microphone gain or phantom power. Can an optical output be used as an optical recording input? No. Input and output directions matter. Connect a supported source to an input and send an output to a suitable receiving device. An optical socket with an output role does not accept incoming audio for recording. Technical Specifications Specification
